One hundred years from now
It won't matter who you thought you were,
Who I thought you were,
How much money you had,
What kind of truck you drove,
How many cattle you had,
Or how many bulls you rode,
Nor who yer daddy was,
But it will matter if you knew Jesus.

Afternoon Art

(Monday 7-26)
Kylee had Kyndall spend the night with her Sunday night so they were here all Monday afternoon. It was HOT outside, of course, and I didn't want them running around in the hot sun all day so I tried to find things for them to do inside. So, they did some fun afternoon art. I laid out a big piece of paper on the dining room table and poured out a box of 64 crayons and let them go at it.

Landon considering what to draw next :)

Isn't he the cutes little artist!?

Kylee was really concentrating on her "Zebra & Peace Sign" planet. They were drawing planets and meteors--or so they said they were.

Landon, Kylee and Kyndall drawing

Landon's Masterpiece, he let me hold is hand to write his name on it.

These two are Kylee's and Kyndalls. They turned out cute.

I had intentions of cutting each kids art work out and framing them for the Mommy's but that didnt work out. {Luckily had got pics of the art work.} I had put the big piece of paper to the floor on Landons 4 wheeler for supper and Kylee accidently knocked her 2nd glass off the table in 12 hours. (She was runnin' barrels in the house again! and I guess she got going too fast and didn't make her turn :)) It spilled on their masterpieces!! But at least this "glass" was plastic. The one the night before was glass and we had tiny little glass pieces ALL OVER the kitchen floor. We will have to do some more artwork inorder to get some "frame worthy" pieces again! :)

Cora Rylee Turned 7!!

Cora Rylee turned 7 on Sunday July 25, but we celebrated on the 24th. She had a luau at Pappo's house. There was a huge water slide and Zydeco Ice Sno Cones. {I think I ate my weight in sno-cones because I couldn't decide which I liked best between the cherry, banana, hawaiin or cotton candy, and for some reason the pics of the sno-cones didn't show up here :(} We had pulled pork sandwiches for supper. There was a great turn out and all the kids had a TON of fun on that slide!! {Luckily we got one, the one we had rented cancelled on us the DAY BEFORE the party!!!}

I made the birthday banner, the cupcake decorations, and the party favor bags for her!
I cut all the shapes with my cricut and then hand stamped them all with a hibiscus flower stamp. It was all tied together with raffia ribbon. {turned out pretty good, huh!?}

My BIG Boy

This past Sunday Landon wore the same diaper all day. He took it off every time he needed to go potty and then had Clint put it back on for him. He was with his Daddy all day while I worked. Then yesterday (Thursday July 15) Landon stayed with his Pappo all day. Our sitter had a funeral to attend and Clint and I both had to work and luckily Pappo was off. Landon woke up that morning and put his big boy undies on and wore them ALL DAY!! NO DIAPERS all day!! NO Accidents!!! We are getting closer and closer!! I am sure there will be accidents but he is doing SO GOOD!! He is such a big boy. He just says I gotta go potty and runs in there by himself. Sometimes we even catch him in there without notice if he just has to TT. But thankfully he does tell you if he needs his hiney cleaned! It's almost sad that hes growing up so fast.

It's got a little sheriff star and everything!

and Landon's initals in western letters!

We just love it!

Raw Cookie Dough...The Recipe!!!!

I found this recipe a while back, and once again I can't remember where for sure, but it was onother blog I'm sure. I saved it, but never made it, but had the perfect opportunity to try it out last Friday. Clint, Landon, Kylee, and her little friend Kyndall that stayed the night went out to play on the slip-n-slide and the boys started a batch of homemade vanilla ice cream. We had planned on doing the ice cream so all day I debated whether I should try it out or not. I mean, it's not really something we need readily available in the fridge...sugar and butter....but boy is it good! I made it for us to chop up into our ice cream and it was YUMM-O!!
{By the way..the major point here is that its EGG FREE so it's "safer" for the kids..and adults... to eat "raw" :)} The ones that were left are in a baggie in the fridge and I randommly catch my little man sneaking into the fridge to get one! :)

Here is the recipe. Try it out. I was great in the ice cream, and its great by itself!

Recipe:
2 cups folour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
4 tablespoons milk
mini chocolate chips, as many as you would like (I only had the regular chips and they worked fine, but the mini would be good for the smaller portions of it)

Mix all the ingredients together as is if you were making regular chocolate chip cookies, and then add the chocolate chips. {I scooped mine with a little teaspoon I have becaue my cookie scoop is too big for these really.}
I scooped them all up onto a cookie sheet to chill in the fridge for a while before putting them in a ziploc bag for storage.

I chopped them into smaller pieces to had to our Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. It was so YUMMY!

The cookie dough sprinkled on top of a cup of ice cream

Landon LOVED it. He couldn't get enough..or so he thought. He kept wanting more.

Hey Bring that back Daddy!!

Sea World

Clint took Landon and Kylee to Sea World on Saturday July 10. I had to work the whole weekend, so I had to miss Landons first trip. :( I survived though. He met Grandma and Grandpa there with Cheyanna, Brian, Hunter, Shane and Katie. He said they had a lot of fun, but the best part was at the hotel pool. They all loved it! He took the camera and him and grandma took some pics. Here are some of them.

Landon with his ice cream cone. They had already eaten turkey legs {for some reason that pic didn't load on here :(}

Landon and Katie in the shark tank. They are so cute holding hands. Clint said it took them a while to open up, but then they were around each other all day.

Landon and Katie--"trouble making buddies"?

Landon found another bull to ride since I wasn't there. He wears this bull out!

Clint said Landon started to get too brave and was jumping off the edge of the pool, and was paddling his arms and legs back to to edge. Maybe he won't have any trouble learning to swim.

and seals!

They had a fun weekend! Hopefully we will get a few more fun trips in this summer!!

Another Recipe

I have had this recipe for these muffins since my junior or senior year in high school from one of my home making classes. It is a basic muffin recipe and then you can add whatever you want. Its super easy and very tasty. Today I added about a cup of fresh blueberries, but my sister and I always added chocolate chips and they were yummy! We also added about 1/2 cup cocoa powder and the chcocolate chips to make chocolate chocolate chip muffins.
The recipe:
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
Preheat oven to 400. Spray bottom of muffin tins or use liners. In bowl, beat egg slightly with a fork. Measure and stir in milk and oil. Sift together on way paper all other indredients. Add all at once to the liquid mixture in the bowl. Stir just enough to moisten dry ingredients. Add you "add in" and mix. Full each muffin tin to 2/3 full. Bake 15-20 minutes or until done. Makes 12.
Looks and tastes yummy!!
and Super EASY!!
I may try them with whole wheat flour sometime in order to make them a little more "healthy"
