Death Guard - Space Marine 'Heroes' - TO DONE! 🔴⚪⚫

Afternoon #Warhammer Community I've been #PaintingWarhammer Death Guard from the Space Marine Heroes Season 3 set. This is Morslug, armed with a plague spewer and was sent to me by Marc from Old School Gaming.

He had a load of MESBG miniatures he never used and thought my mates would welcome them, which we did and he had this too and knew I'd been building the Death Guard up. In return we sent him a care package full of 2nd edition figures for his 2nd edition armies.

So this guy had been hanging around half-finished and it was actually the catalyst for the Blight Hauler. In truth this got finished first. I'm usually not one for tolerating a lapse in chronological order, but at some point you have to ask yourself Does it Really Matter?

Anyway, I love it and his little Nurgling, which I thought would be fun in a pus-coloured mustard.

Another individual gets the Great Big MINOR Chrome Stamp of Approval worth 1 point. This brings me up to 198 points for the season so far.

And the view from the back. I love the fungal growths on the back pack and helmet, that I got to make look like the ones in the other tar bases.

It's almost like they spread that infection - who knows what it is? I bet Professor Egon Seuss would know.

And on black background for the true grimdark experience.

Could you imagine this thing coming at you out of the dark. I think, for me, they're probably the most horrifying faction in all of 40k - the one I'd least like to meet.

So there we go. A new project is waiting in the wings, what can it be?

Death Guard - Myphitic Blight Hauler - WHITE and BLACK BACKGROUND PICS ⚪⚫

Afternoon #Warhammer Community I've been #PaintingWarhammer on a Death Guard Myphitic Blight Hauler and here are the TO DONE! pics on a white background for those that want them unadulterated, without context. But, also the bonus black background pics for those that really appreciate the Grimdark. Here's a rotation.

And on the [off]white background. Yeah, not sure why it's a little creamy...

Not a huge amount of gloss varnish - the eye, mandibles and teeth, red fleshy bits and Tamiya Clear Red X-27 for the blood on the weeping sores.

Really do like the subtle effect of that decal on the track armour.

Gloss varnish on all the red fleshy bits.

I tried to match a pale scorpion sting for the 'tail'.

It worked out OK, although two or three times I accidentally brushed against it while wash and contrast paint was on it so it's a bit blobby.

I may need to look at getting some Death Guard/Nurgle decals...

Because of the size of the base I used a different gloss black fabric paint for the tar. It's less structural, so there are areas that are almost just the normal plastic base, just glossy.

But I think that's OK, it doesn't have to be perfectly smooth.

But where I wanted 'Venom-like' tar strands I used the 3D texture fabric paints to stretch drips and globs. This track is meant to be off the ground as it's cornering on 2 of its 3 tracks.

And the tar strands on the other track. It was also slightly disheartening to paint the track treads black and then gloss them when I had already done them with metallics and weathering. But they would be covered with tar. I just need to not worry about that step next time.

And here we have it on a black background, because it's Grimdark!

A bit of adjustments to get it coming out of the dark, hope you enjoy the pics.

And because I loved it so much, I got another. Although I want to hack at the front a bit to make it look different, which inevitably means whatever momentum I had from finishing the first one will be gone as I convert the second.

6 million

Afternoon #WarhammerCommunity just 5 months since I hit the 5 million mark and now I have 6 million on the clock... But most of these are bots and crawlers. So I'm not holding store by it, just acknowledging it.

Google analytics tells me it has been jut 43,000 views in that period, with an 'event count' [whatever that is] of 100,000. Which is still pretty good considering I only have 334 followers and this is a blog, not a popular social platform they people use all the time.

So, we acknowledge and move on. Thanks for those real people who do visit amongst the chaff.

Death Guard - Myphitic Blight Hauler - TO DONE! 🔴

Afternoon #Warhammer Community I've been #PaintingWarhammer on a Death Guard Myphitic Blight Hauler and it's TO DONE! I always say that I'm addicted to serotonin. That hit of finishing something is way more important to me than if I'm happy with the result. But actually, if I like what I've done then the dopamine and serotonin combined is absolutely something else.

Throw in pictures that make the result look fantastic and the satisfaction I get is something else.

Coincidentally I think I recall the very same sense of achievement when I did the Death Guard Poxwalkers. I'm sure I was utterly overwhelmed by them, despite their imperfections.

Whereas this Blight Hauler is ticking every box. I am so happy with it it's unreal.

The colours are super vibrant, which does make me itch to have it raw grimdark.

But the orange missiles and Cursed Verdigris 🗽 are my signature moves and I just can't not do them.

The base came out pretty cool too. I've got to do the Tar Reeds on all my Gellerpox Infected at some point too. I've been putting it off as it's a faff. But the stringy tar works.

And on the treads here too.

Alongside the Foetid Bloat Drone as well

There is something about the Drone I love and despite the 4 years since I did them they seem consistent, yet subtly different.

Which is as it should be because they are decomposing and tarnishing in different ways.

This was a gift from Marc at Old School Gaming.

Long in progress but finally done and actually part of the inspiration to get the Blight Hauler done as well.

But they make a nice pair too.

A Great Big Chrome Stamp of Approval according to my spreadsheet this is worth 10 points. Therefore, this brings me up to 197 points for the season so far.
