The Guest Family

Carson was in the mood for an art project yesterday, so I had him draw a picutre with pencil and then let him paint it. He did the entire project completely by himself - drawing and painting. I did offer suggestions for color selection (when he wanted to paint the flowers black and brown), but everything else was all him. I was SO impressed with his picture! He was quite proud of it. We hung it on the back door (coming in from the garage) so that everytime we come home we see it. Maybe we have an aspiring artiste in the making???

Ah, the joys of learning to "self feed". I stripped Collier down the other night (thank goodness!) and let him have one of those biter biscuit while we ate dinner. It kept him totally entertained! I had forgotten how messy those things are - they basically melt EVERYWHERE!!! He loved it. Kenny was gagging the whole time and Carson said "Collier you look D - sgusting". Mommy was the only one who would pick him up and bathe him...and I had to SCRUB that stuff off! Even the dogs didn't know what to think. I think Bo was trying to figure out how to get up there to lick him!

We are watching one of Carson's best buds, Ella, tonight. They always have lots of fun together. I put a movie on for them at 8 thinking they might fall asleep...yeah right! They called down at 9:45, still wide awake, that they needed another movie and something to eat! Although they got neither, I did give them a chance to try to fall asleep together on the "palate" I made them. I am completely shocked that they actually did!

After Collier perfected his crawling abilites tonight, he was all over the study. This collage of the boy's Christmas pictures has been sitting on the floor, waiting to be hung for several weeks. Someday it will get hung! He crawled over to it and was totally fascinated...it was SO funny! The last picture is my fave...he was kissing the baby in the picture - sweet boy!

After weeks of being just on the cusp of crawling...Collier FINALLY figured it out tonight!

Wait a second! Is that Kenny moving a toy? Encouraging him to crawl? I have been hearing "Amy, don't encourage him to crawl!" for weeks! So funny! We all got so excited.

Look at that happy face! He was really proud of himself. He was looking up at Carson, who was clapping and cheering for him (we all were). He thought it was pretty great!

Carson and I (Collier helped too, by being cooperative and sitting in his chair) made Valentine cookies for his classmates, teachers and friends earlier this week. His Valentine's party is today at KDO. I will post more pics of that later today. He had lots of fun making and decorating. He did a really good job. I helped with the cutting out (he mostly just "sampled" the sugar cookie dough), but he did the decorating all on his own.

I love this picture. This was right before bedtime and Collier was so ready for bed - look at that tired, dirty little face (still had some dinner on it!). If you look close you can see his teeth that are getting really big and really SHARP!!! Shannon, I thought of you the other day when he bit me on the shoulder, then laughed when I screamed. I might have to institute some of your "tough love" on him! :)




A few mornings ago, Carson told me he wanted to feed Collier his bottle. I was struck by how BIG Collier looked in his lap, so I snapped a picture. When I downlaoded these I went back and found a picture (the one below) that was taken July 12th. Look how little Collier was!
