Look what we dug up!

This salamander was hiding under the sandbox in the backyard. Rosie sure is proud of her find! To top off the day, the kids also found a slimy slug and a snail. So this is what spring rains bring!

Swwwiiinnnggg.... batter - batter swing!

Oakley on 2nd base, he hit a fly ball into the outfield. It was a single and he brought a player in from 3rd base to home. His team won with a score of 3-2. Their team name is the Cardinals, their record is 3 wins-1loss. Go team!!!

First Bite!

Our baby girl enjoyed her first taste of rice cereal. She loved it and ate her whole bowl! Unfortunately, her tummy was a little upset later. Next time I'll give her a smaller bowl. Daddy had fun introducing her to solid food.

Music Through the Ages

The kids had a musical performance at school. They sang songs from different decades. Daisy was the 1900's, Rosie was the 1920's, and Oakley was the 1950's. They did a great job. Aren't their costumes cute!

Proud Pre-School Grad!

Ashton graduated from pre-school on Friday. He wont go to kindergarten until the fall of 2009, but at his pre-school everyone gets to graduate. So next year he will graduate again! This year he got a certificate for 1 year of completion and next year he will get a 2 year certificate. I hope he doesn't think he gets to graduate after every year of school. But, it would be fun.

Mother's Day

I have great kids! These are just a few of the thoughtful gifts they gave me for Mother's Day. All of the kids made cards at church and I also got the geranium from church. Oakley made a birdhouse for me at boy scouts and he made me a clay coin ( in my hand). Daisy made me a necklace (I'm wearing it in the photo) and a wooden garden stake cut in the shape of a flower. She said she wanted to give me a flower that I could look at in my garden all year round. Isn't she sweet! Rosie gave me a beautiful double petunia flower. Ashton gave me 2 candles that smell like roses. My hubby got up early and made pancakes for breakfast. It was a wonderful Mother's Day! I am so blessed to have such sweet and thoughtful children and an awesome husband!

A Fun Visit!

Granny S. came to visit us the day before Mother's Day. We played " Are you Smarter Than A 5th Grader. " Granny S. won! She came to visit and watch the kids play soccer, but the games were called off because of thunderstorms. Our power went out for a couple of hours. We ate Strawberry Shortcake, then went on a drive to the lake. When we came home, our power was on. We are happy Granny S. came to visit us. We all had a great time!

Girls Night!

Daisy, on left, with her friends the daughters of "Sunshine."
While the guys were at their campout, we had a fun girls night at my friend, "Sunshine's", house. Sunshine got her hair cut & colored and I got a haircut. I'll post photos later. We made pizza, popcorn, and homemade cinnamon rolls. We watched chick movies and the kids played.

The Fisherman

At the Father/Son Campout, Oakley caught this nice walleye. Dad grilled it for him. He said it tasted like a combination of tuna and chicken. Yum yum!

Dogsitting

The happy dog & the grumpy dog! We "dog sat" the cousin's dog "Maggie." We spoiled her rotten. Notice our poor jealous Max (the big dog) with his sad doggie eyes. We're not buying that act! We had a lot of fun and the dogs played together and chased each other in circles, and they both barfed! It was the terrier barf bash! We look forward to more doggie playtime....minus the barf!

Cutie Pie!!! 3 1/2 Months Old

Soccer Moves!

Check out these fancy moves! Ashton narrowly escapes the dreaded alligator chop! Rosie moves the ball down the field. Our team is the blue team, the official color is "sapphire."

HOLES!

The kids love the movie "Holes," so we decided to stick them in one! My Hubby doesn't believe in wasted space. He noticed in our house that there was an area above the basement stairs that was "wasted space," and should be turned into storage. He said, " I can turn that into a storage space in one hour!" So off to the garage he went! And 4 hours later, the storage area was created. I understand honey, if the drill would have stayed charged (the battery is old) you would have kept on your 1 hour timeline. We decided that this "wasted space" was actually a great place to store kids! They couldn't wait to crawl inside and check out the hole so we put them to work sweeping up the drywall dust. You will see in my next post that we freed them from the "hole." They had to get out after only 15 minutes exploring the "hole" to go potty.
