I have been away from my blog for over 6 months. So long that I forgot my password and couldn't remember how to enter a new post. I will be back soon. I have a lot of catching up to do since the November 2010 photos I posted. I am determined to stay in chronological order so I can make a blog book soon.
The kids have stayed busy all summer. Where did the summer go? School starts in 4 days! I hope to do some serious deep cleaning and de-cluttering when they go back. I try to watch "Hoarders" regularly to inspire me to clean up, throw stuff out, and "NEVER become like those people!" Maybe if I spent less time watching the show, I'd have a spotless, well-organized house. Nah, probably not.
I'll be back soon to report on trips, sports, running, remodeling, birthdays, and other edge of your seat excitement! And of course family & friend visits, the new fence, fireworks, and other fun. Stay tuned!

My Dream Home
The First White House of the Confederacy.
Out of all the places we visited, this tour was my favorite! I love the architecture and the history.
I wish I had a bedroom exactly like the one pictured above! Known as the "Cabinet Room," it was a guest room used by members of the president's cabinet and other guests.
Descending the grand staircase in the entry hall. If you are ever in Montgomery, this is a "must see," and totally free!
Trolley Ride
We took a trolley tour around downtown Montgomery and saw several historical sights.
The church where Martin Luther King, Jr preached.
The home of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Waiting for the trolley at the Visitor's Center.
Roll Tide!
Beautiful tile floor in the Visitors Center.

Surviving the Road Trip
Kids were trying to get truckers to honk. They were successful once.
Our oldest son "not" picking his nose.
I took all of our kids on a road trip all by myself to go and visit my hubby, their daddy, for Thanksgiving. He was in a 10 week training program many miles from home.
Birthday Bike ~ November 2010
He received his first new bike for his 7th birthday! His last bike was a purple hand-me-down from his sister. I gave him his bike at night and it was too dark to ride. I told my boy that he could ride it in the morning before school if he woke up early. It was only 30 degrees the next morning, but he had fun for about 20 minutes before he was too frozen to ride and came in to warm up.
On our road trip a few days later, we saw this big green bike being hauled by a truck. The kids thought it was funny to see such a huge bike.
I can't believe he's 7!
In November of 2010 our youngest son turned 7! He wanted a B-2 Bomber cake. I found this camoflage cake and added the B-2's that I found in the toy section, too bad the "7" is backwards. Of course, my 7 yr. old was the first to notice.
Only a few friends came, but they were crazy and loud!
The cake was yummy and we all had a fun time.

Talent Show!

Our 11 year old daughter won 2nd place in a talent show at her school on November 5, 2010! She practiced really hard and it paid off. She performed a gymnastics routine to the song "Tantrum." Her prize was large pizza and a box of donuts.
