Back from Vacation

Where have I been, you ask?? I have been on vacation!! We had a great vacation, but it's nice to be home. We went to SD again and had fun with my sis and her fam and my parents. I honed my tiling skills and except for one little tiny error which got us off our very straight line which my dad had to correct for us, I have to say that I think we did an excellent job. Her bathroom looks fabulous except for the tiny little issue of no vanity, yet! My sisters very sweet friend came over and taught us how to can meat, and I am way excited so much so that I immediately went to Walmart when I got home, bought a slew of canning jars (with coupons, of course) and a pressure canner! Seriously, I am obsessed, now I'm just patiently waiting for a really good meat sale.

We had such a blast seeing Kameron after his 2 year mission, he's such a great kid, I'm sorry I know he's 21, but seriously he's still a little kid to me. We stayed up late talking about our funny missionary stories and Kam had us in stitches! I'm so proud of him! While we were there Korb went to Youth Conference, they were doing a pioneer trek in Wyoming. He wasn't super hot on the idea--Korb is not a great lover of the outdoors. After a week at Scout camp his comment about YC was "at least there will be girls there!" Spoken like a true 17 year old boy! Of course, he had a GREAT time. We love ya Koko!!

On our way to SD, we stopped at Winter Quarters NE and saw the Temple there, so pretty, and went on a tour of the visitors center. The kids loved dressing up like pioneers.

We went to Mt. Rushmore again....last summer raining cats and dogs and cold. This year....sunshine, hot and humid! It was nice to see mountains again after the FLAT lands of SD, Nebraska and Wyoming! We also went to this really cool mammoth site. T. thought it was AWESOME! It's this sink hole in SD where they've found like 20 mammoth skeletons. It was cool. On the drive to SD we had the great pleasure of being surrounded by thunderstorms and Tornado watches. Not a real fan of tornados...don't like them!!!

We also went to the Omaha zoo which we really nice. They had some great exhibits. Of course, we went to the indoor exhibits first, not realizing that they were huge and went to the outdoor exhibits in the afternoon when it was 90 degrees and 5,000% humidity!!

I know it's a totally scattered blog post, but that's the way my brain works these days....totally scattered. Just ask Scott, he'll agree in a heartbeat!

When we came back to Utah we had a fun visit with Scotts Sis and family! They are so great, we just love 'em!!

Okay here's some pictures from the trip--pretty self explanatory!

The girls loved to sneak downstairs and play Kam's drums...they were funny!

Where's S. in this picture?Oh there she is refusing to stand in the picture just because I asked her to!!

I am so not riding in her wagon....wait that's exactly what her room looks like!

God Bless America!

"My fellow Americans, we live in a great and glorious land. We have been the beneficiaries of great blessings from heaven. We must never forget the blessings that have been bestowed upon us. Our nation is still in deep need of the help of the Almighty. We need His inspiration. We need His guidance. We need His protection." Ezra Taft Benson
