SCHOOL DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN

The kids have completed their first week back to school. I think they are glad to be back with their friends but it is exhausting to get up early and be in school all day. We are slowly beginning to get back to some kind of routine. I am hoping next week will be even better.

LAST SWIM DAY BEFORE SCHOOL BEGINS

Friday, August 20th
This was our last swim day at the Dean Pool before the school bell rings Monday. What a great summer we have had but we are definately ready for some structure back in our lives...and errands ALL BY MYSELF =)

"U"nicyclists

Jake and his buddies Ezra and Brayden decided on their last day of summer break they would ride their unicycles from our house up to the U of U stadium (17 miles). We thought they were crazy but after 3 hrs and 57 minutes they were home and swimming with us at the Dean's. (I'm glad they thought to take pictures with their phones so they have proof they did it.)

All I can say is very IMPRESSIVE... but CRAZY!!!
What will be next for these 3?

SATURN STAR SUMMER KIDS CAMP

Rachel and her two friends Zoe and Sydney put on a kids camp this summer for 2 weeks. It was July 19-23 and August 9-13 (10:00-1:00 each day). They organized and did most of the work themselves. Sure it was stressful at times having all those kids but they did such a great job. It was fun to see them work together. I am so grateful for their friendship and am excited for them to get older and see what things they do in their lives. They had 26 kids each session. Thanks to all our awesome friends that supported them. I was glad to see Rachel put 1/2 she earned in the bank...she is hoping to save enough $ to do a study abroad someday.

GREAT job girls!!!
Sydney's dad designed these shirts they wore each day.(I wasn't as good at taking pictures the 2nd session I guess I was a little burned out =)

Monday was CRAFT DAY
They made airplanes, painted rocks, fruit loop pictures, played with playdough and played lots of games.
The kids loved their story time break.Tuesday was ADVENTURE DAY
They made pirate hats, went on a treasure hunt, made treasure chests, fruit loop necklaces and played lots of fun games.
Wednesday was SPORTS DAY
They played crochet, soccer, sidewalk chalk, volleyball, kickball, freeze tag etc.Thursday was CARNIVAL DAY
Sydney's backyard was transformed into a fun carnival. They had lots of fun games set up, face painting, fishing pond, bounce house (tramp) and snowcones.

Sydney's dad painted these boards all the kids had their picture taken behind.
Friday was WATER DAY
