PEACE

Mike and I went to the temple last night and I just wanted to write my testimony I have of the temple for my kids. I want them to know I am so grateful to live close to so many temples and be able to go there and do service. I want them to know it is so important to live a life that you are worthy to go to the temple. As I was sitting in a session last night, I couldn’t help but feel such PEACE and how nice it is to leave the outside world when we are there. No phones, internet, TV, children, problems etc. I am grateful for a place to go and feel close to our Heavenly Father and feel the spirit. It seems like we have been given so many talks lately about temple attendance. Last Sunday in sacrament meeting Brother Campbell gave a talk about the importance of temple attendance and he says he goes 3 times a week and tries to do 3 sessions a time. I know he is older and has more time and isn’t busy with everyday life like we are, but still he has to physically get himself there which I am sure can be hard some days. Mike and I need to make more of an effort to at least go once a month. We are going to try really hard this year to make it past June. It seems like every year we do so good from January – June, but once summer hits it is so hard to get there. I was also grateful for the temple name I did yesterday because as I was getting ready to finish the session I looked and noticed her birthday was the same day as mine March 23, 1838…pretty cool 134 years before my birth year. I hope to do baptisms with Rachel and Jake more this year. One sister in relief society said when she turned 12 her dad took her to the temple every Friday. I am not expecting to do it that much, but how cool to get to go more with Rachel and Jake. We are lucky as Latter Day Saints to have a temple, so if it is hard for you to get there like me, I hope this year you can make more of an effort to go.

I love this PEACE sign we were given from our friends the Jefferies' for Christmas. I am keeping it up all year long. LOVE IT!!!

NO REGRETS

Another one of my goals this New Year is to live each day to its fullest and to have no regrets. I hope to spend as much time as I can with my family and friends. Good quality time like you don't know if there will be a tomorrow time. I mentioned in an earlier post that I have been working at Driggs as an Aide in the first grade. Another one of my responsibilities at school is to meet a 4th grade boy who has muscular dystrophy each morning and take him to class. For some reason today when his grandma was getting him out of the car and lifting him into his wheelchair that (since it was a snowy morning) was now covered in snow it just hit me that one day he was fine and then the next he was diagnosed with a disease that is out of his control. His world and his families world has forever changed. No running around with friends playing soccer, jumping on the tramp, hiking in the mountains, just doing active boy things etc. I really admire his grandma for all she does for him. It sure is a lot of work lifting him out of the car and taking care of someone that has no ability to walk. I want to be active with my kids and do fun things together...because TODAY we can. So if you are debating starting that new exercise program...DO IT. You just never know what tomorrow brings. I know I sure take my health for granted.

PS. We are in our 2nd week of INSANITY...and we LOVE IT =)

CRAZY...

Our "baby"... SADIE KATHERINE... has celebrated her "7th" birthday. Her celebration started on Monday when we had the grandparents over to our house for dinner.
Her BIRTHDAY started out first thing in the morning with presents from the family. Sadie has such a great laugh. Lately she seems to break out laughing more and more. Her laugh is contagious. When she laughs it makes us want to laugh with her.Sadie has been SOOOO excited to get her ears pierced this year for her birthday. She really wanted Rachel to come along. It was fun spending the day with just the girls.

Before her ears are pierced... After =)Since it was a "non birthday party year" after Sadie got her ears pierced we went and got pedicures....FUN.
The finished product =)After pedicures we went home and picked up the boys for dinner. Sadie chose to go to dinner at Red Robbin (mostly because of their AWESOME complimentary birthday dessert)...YUMMY!!!
Her big gift was a microphone stand she could sing out of. Sadie loves to entertain. She is always dancing around and now she will be singing and performing. After dinner we came home and Sadie performed some songs for the family. Happy Birthday "SADIE BUG". You sure add spice to our lives and our family wouldn't be complete without your great sense of humor and fun personality.
WE LOVE YOU!!!

INSANITY

Mike gave me this new workout video series for Christmas. My friends Michelle Bagley and Steph Bruce did these insanity videos for 8 weeks a month ago. I am excited to try them out. I think Mike and I will start tomorrow. We will see how it goes. I was sick last week so now that I am feeling better I need something to get me motivated. Here is to our new workout for "2011"
....wish us luck =)
Has anyone else tried these? If so did you like them and were you happy with the results?

HAPPY NEW YEAR

On Monday night for family home evening we made snowflakes and talked about the importance of being "individuals".
We thought it would be a good time to talk about some goals we could set for the New Year. We went around and asked everyone what 1 goal is they would like to have for the year "2011".

Here is our list:
Dad - Go to bed earlier. Get more sleep.
Mom - Spend more time as a family.
Rachel - Read her scriptures daily and get all A's.
Jake - Be nicer to Will and take more time to hangout with him.
Will - Remember to bring his scriptures to church each week.
Sadie - Go to bed earlier so she isn't grumpy in the morning.

We all agreed...more SKIING as a family =)
We will hang our list on the wall in the office as a reminder. I hope all of you have "A HAPPY NEW YEAR" and have success in the things you would like to work on in your own lives.
