AFRICAN ICE

Rachel got her first job this summer.  She has been working at African Ice on 4500 so and Highland Dr.  It is nice to see how generous people have been with their tips. She has made some pretty good $$$.

CABIN in the SUMMER

We took 3 (small) trips to the cabin this summer.  We just love leaving the city and getting away from the heat.  The busier our kids get the less time we get to spend up there.  We are so grateful for the times we did get to go this summer.

JUNE - 26th-28th
We spent time there with my parents, Troy, Murdocks and Chambers.

 JULY - 23rd-25th
We celebrated the 24th of July with the whole Nelson family minus Chambers. This is a picture of my brother Brett and his kids.  Had to get a picture of him since his birthday is the 24th of July.

AUGUST - 11th-13th
We spent the weekend with just the 6 of us.

SUMMER SOCCER TOURNAMENTS

Will played in 3 soccer tournaments this summer.  It has been fun watching their team change to the bigger field and now play 11 v 11.  Will has been playing left defender and left forward.  He still LOVES soccer and is getting really good at it.  The tournaments have helped the boys get ready for their season which starts on Sept. 6th.

1st Tournament
LA ROCA
in Layton, July 19th-21st
 2nd Tournament
MURRAY MAX

STAINING THE PLAYSET

It has been 5 years since we put this playset in our backyard.  Last summer we had planned to stain it but it never happened.  After bugging Mike and FINALLY getting him to go buy stain it was able to get done.  This was one of not many things on our BUCKET LIST this summer so I am super glad it is done!  Looks a lot better than it did a few days ago. The kids were such great helpers.  Sadie was at a friends house so she didn't get to help.  Owell maybe she can help when we do it again in 5 years :)

BISHOPS YOUTH OUTING

Last Friday Mike, Rachel and Jake went over night up to our bishops cabin for the Bishops Youth Outing.  It was the youths reward for completing (or in some cases reading as much as they could) the Book of Mormon.  The girls slept in the cabin and the boys slept outside under the stars. Mike said there were 40+ youth that came. We were proud of Rachel and Jake because they both finished the Book before they went on the outing.  The scripture committee did a great job of planning fun activities and entertaining the youth.  They ziplined, canoed, watched "The Best Two Years" under the stars, ate yummy food and just had a great time.  I think it is a great way to help motivate the youth to read the Book of Mormon.  Thanks Bishopric members, Jill and Ginger for the great reward over nighter :)
