GOODBYE TO A GREAT FRIEND

Will's comp soccer coach he has had for the past 2+ years died last Wednesday evening.  When I was at school last Thursday morning I got a phone call from my friend Holly Little telling me that Rob Reynard had taken his own life.  It literally shocked me.  Rob has been such a big part of Will's life for the past 2+  years with 2 practices and 1 to 2 games a week (10 months out of the year).  We have traveled to St. George 3 times and Mesquite once to play in tournaments.  At these tournaments we spent lots of time with Rob and his family and really got to know them well.  Nobody knew just how sad and depressed Rob was.  Rob was one of Will's greatest fans.  He always complimented Will on his awesome left leg and how fast he is.  He was super friendly and always made time for each boy.  Our boys all wore their jerseys to his funeral and sat on a bench together.  It broke my heart to see Will cry.  He really loved him and is good friends with his son Payton so it's been pretty hard.

In loving memory of our Coach, Mentor, Friend and Father of our "Soccer Family"... Rob Reynard.
We will miss you dearly! ♥

After the funeral the team all went to Apollo to drown our sorrows in some greasy food...
it was just what the boys needed!
Goodbye to an AWESOME coach and friend!

CABIN GETAWAY

Last Friday night 18 of us from our neighborhood went up to Eden, UT to stay in our friend Holly Lang's inlaws cabin (or should I say more like a lodge).  It was super huge :)  We had such a great night of going to dinner and just hanging out and talking until 1:30 in the morning.  I sure LOVE Holly.  I am so glad I get to work with her in the Relief Society Presidency (she keeps me sane. :)  She is one of my VERY BEST friends :)  Love ya Holly.  Thanks for the good time :)

A group of 12 of us left for the cabin at 2:30 so we ate dinner together in Eden. The other 6 left at 6:00 after their hubbies got home, so they ate together in Bountiful.  This is the Eden dinner crew!

Although he makes me SUPER NERVOUS every time he goes skiing...
I am still his biggest fan.  I sure think Jake is a stud.  LOVE that kid :)

CRAZY HAIR DAY

In honor of Dr. Seuss' Birthday this week the kids had Crazy Hair day at their school.  Our kids love any chance they get to wear color in their hair.  I think their pretty CRAZY, cute kids if I do say so myself ;)  At lunch they had activities for the kids.  One of them was having their face painted.  When Sadie came home I laughed so hard with how cute her face turned out.  We had to run some errands after school and she went with her face painted.  She said, "Hey, maybe people will think these are  my real glasses."  SO CUTE!!!

These are some buddies in Sadie's 3rd grade class:
Catherine, Zani, Brooklyn, Grace, Kinsley, Sadie

HELLO POCATELLO...

Melanie and Brad are interviewing for jobs since next year they will be done with medical school. YAY!  They had an interview last weekend in Pocatello, ID so they passed Lola off at the airport to my parents and headed to Pocatello to be wined and dined by a clinic that wants Brad.  My parents had a great time having Lola for a few nights.  Sadie LOVED getting to spend some time with her.  Since they needed a way to get Lola back from Salt Lake to Pocatello, Mom, Amy, Morgan and I drove her up and we spent the night in a hotel there.  It was great fun getting to spend some time with Mel and Brad.  It was a quick visit but SO worth it.  We are so excited to find out where they will end up.  It's looking like they will be ALOT closer to home then Illinois. YAY :)

DADDY DAUGHTER DATE

Sadie had an ACTIVITY DAYS daddy daughter date with Mike last week.  She was so excited and looked forward to it all week.  They had to dress in something matching, so they chose to both go as UTE fans.  They played some minute to win it games, danced and ate treats.  She is lucky to have such a great dad that LOVES to spend time with each one of his kids.  GOOD TIMES :)

SNOGRESSION on SKIS

Jake is in the middle of his second session of SNOGRESSION classes.  This time around he has decided to try skis instead of a snowboard.  He has picked up using skis quite well.  I think he has permanently switched to skiing instead of snowboarding (of course he has, especially since he just got a new snowboard and boots for his birthday in November...SERIOUSLY?!?). The instructor says Jake is a real natural when it comes to doing tricks.  It was fun to go and watch one of his classes with Mike again this week.  It is very entertaining!

CUTE LITTLE LUNCH SERVER

Sadie had a chance to lunch serve at school last week.  She has really been looking forward to this.  Some of her friends that have done it before didn't really like it so she wasn't sure she would either.  By the look on her face I think you can tell how much she liked it :)  She was given the job of handing the kids salad so she said it was fun :)

MEDIEVAL DAYS

Will had Medieval Days at school a few weeks ago.  They had a day of activities and learning about Medieval times.  Part of their activity was they got to participate in a feast.  They were given fruit, pita bread and chicken.  The best part was they ate it with their hands.  The kids LOVED it.  They had the choice of whether they wanted to dress up or not.  Most of the kids dressed up.  They had to make a castle with a partner (Will's partner was Austin Little).  In years past when Rachel and Jake had to make their castles it was made at home.  This year they brought the supplies and did it in class.  I think that was such a great idea.  It became more of the students project then the parents ;)
