The first part of July we took a family vacation to Southern California. Rachel flew out of LAX to Tonga so we purposely bought her a one way ticket so we would have an excuse to drive and pick her up. Oh how we missed her. It was so great to pick her up at the airport and hear all about her trip to Tonga. I think by the pics below it shows we were more then excited to see her :) Because the trip was planned kind of late we decided to stay in a hotel just about 5 miles from Newport. We LOVED staying a hotel. We stayed at the Quality Suites and it had a great hot breakfast every morning, clean towels and sheets every day, a nice pool, bed for everyone and air conditioning :) We explored Hollywood and drove around Beverly Hills, went to the beach 4 days (Huntington 2 days, Newport 1 and Laguna 1), Six Flags, ate at Ruby's on the Newport Pier and played cards and just had a great time being together as a family. Beach trips are the best bonding trips. To see the kids play in the ocean, build sand castles, play football and wrestle together just made me so happy :) We are so lucky that our kids like to be together and more importantly be with Mike and I. We truly have the COOLEST kids. They are so adventurous and love to try and do new things. I am forever grateful for this trip we had to spend time together before Rachel moves up to Logan. Our family is changing and time is definitely not slowing down :(
