6 Deans + a Dog

 Sadie had her first dance competition last Saturday at Taylorsville Highschool!  It was called "Countdown".  Her company performed two dances... 1 jazz and 1 ballet dance!  They did awesome!  They received awards for both dances and Sadie absolutely LOVED competing.  She is such a beautiful dancer and has really improved since she has joined company!!! It was pretty much an all day event.  We left at 11:30 and got home at 8:30.  After they competed we went and got dinner at Teriyaki Grill with some of her dance buddies and moms!  Ahhh the joys of being a dancer! :)

 

 

 We took a ski trip over Presidents day weekend with just the 6 of us!  It was so fun!!! We took off Thursday night at 8:00 after Rachel opened her mission call and drove to Eagle, Colorado where we stayed for 4 nights and 4 days!  We got there at 2:00 am (good thing Mike is a night owl! :) This year our Park City pass was an epic pass which means it includes skiing at some resorts in Colorado.  We thought heck why not take advantage of the free skiing! :)  Friday we skied at Vail, Saturday - Breckenridge, Sunday- Beaver Creek and Monday - Vail again 1/2 day (at least Mike, Rachel, Jake and Will did) while Sadie and I hung out at the hotel! :)  It was fun skiing all day and going to dinner, hot tubbing, watching tv and just hanging out at night!  Ahhh I love these times we get to spend as a family!  It is so fun to hang with our kids and see them do something they all LOVE! :)

 

 

 

 

Rachel opened her mission call on Thurs, Feb 12th!  It was so exciting just waiting to hear where she was going to serve...  She has waited for three+ years since she made her decision to serve a mission so this was a BIG DEAL!!! It is kind of a surreal feeling just sitting there and waiting for her to read those words..."Dear Sister Dean you have been called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!  You have been assigned to serve in the CANADA CALGARY mission!"  A moment that I will NEVER forget! :)  We are so proud and happy for Rachel and her decision to serve a mission!  She is going to change so many lives with her sweet testimony and her confident, courageous personality!  She isn't afraid to say what she thinks and feels!  I know she is going to be the best missionary!  How exciting she gets to be in a spanish speaking mission and learn spanish! YAY!!!  Words cannot describe how much we love and are so very proud of you Rachel!  We sure got lucky when you  chose us to be your parents!  You have been nothing but a great example to your dad, siblings and I.  WE LOVE YOU RACHEL ELIZABETH!!!  Now bring on this next adventure... OH CANADA...EH!!!
