wild williamsburg with grandma!!

my wild & crazy cousins,

I just want to write you a note and let you know how much I LOVED our weekend! Mychael-Ann, thank you for putting it all together! It has been way to long since I have seen most of you. It is always crazy trying to go out of town without the kids. I knew it would be nice to be together, but I had no idea how much fun I would really have! I haven’t laughed so much in a long time. We are all so different. Some of us have dance moves I have never seen before. Some are super organized. Some have a giggle that is contagious. Some might be just a tiny bit naïve. Some more directionally challenged than others.

We have much more in common, we are so blessed to have the family we do. To have Grandpa and Grandma who love the Lord and their family. Who have sacrificed so much to follow Him. They have given us an incredible legacy of faith. We have all had to overcome different challenges in life. Each of you inspire me with the people you have become and are becoming . I know Heavenly Father loves each of us so much. He gives us the challenges in our life that we need to become our best and be more like He is.

I will forever remember crazy dance parties (the look on Grandma’s face), Grandma teaching us her line dance, of course, pound cake, learning to make g’ma’s biscuits, going to Petersburg (laughing the whole time), & late night talks and later night talks. I love seeing Grandma so happy. She wanted me to tell each of you how much she loved being there. She said she doesn’t know how to thank us but loves each one of us so much!!

I love you!!

i love ashLyn!!

Today, I have been thinking about all the reasons I love ashLyn!! There are a lot so get ready...
1. She has a huge heart!
2. Her strawberry blonde hair that I love!
3. She is always doing things to surprise me! Saturday, she cleaned and organized the kid's bathroom. Yesterday, she made Sunday dinner and wouldn't let me come in the kitchen until she was all done.
5. She loves her brothers and sister. I often find Chase curled up next to her in the morning.
6. She likes to teach them things whether she is playing school or just playing outside with them.
7. She makes me laugh. Her smile is contagious. If Ashlyn's happy, we're ALL happy!!!
8. She gives the best family home evenings. She always wants it to be her turn.
9. She is an amazing little nanny. Macy, Zyun, Laylia, Raegan and Quincee (? my name for Lindsey's baby today) are lucky!!
10. She is 11 going on 16. She is wise beyond her years. She gives great advice!
11. She is a great dancer.
12. I love to watch her tumble. She is getting so good!!
13. She is good at playing the piano. She doesn't like practicing but I keep telling her one day she will be happy she did!
14. She is a good example to me. She makes me want to be better!
15. If I don't write in my journal and update my blog, she will do it for me!! (that could potentially be dangerous.)
16. I love spending time with her. It doesn't matter what we are doing.
17. She is a sweet friend and a very good listener.
18. She really, really loves other people!
19. She has such a strong testimony and I love to hear her say it at church. She is the best in the family at sharing her testimony.
20. She LOVES her cousins and if she could go anywhere in the world, it would be to visit them.
21. I know she is one of Heavenly Father's most special daughters!
22. I feel so BLESSED to be her mom!
23. She teaches me so much.
24. She is one of my heroes!
25. She will always be one of my very best friends!

i love you, strawberry!!!

laylia

Laylia is the sweetest and tiniest little one! She is beautiful! Steve was there before she was born and text me "emily's only request is the coconut cupcakes. pretty please?!!" Of course, Ash and I got to work and brought her lots of cupcakes! Laylia will always be known to as our little cupcake. Emily is such a good mom. We knew she would be though!

Mr and Mrs. Andrew Jewkes!

What a celebration! We have all waited for this day for a long time. Brooke married Andrew Jewkes in the Salt Lake Temple. It's my favorite temple, where Steve and I were married 16 years ago. There is a peace that is there that I can't feel anywhere else. I can't imagine my life without the temple and the covenants I make there. The temple reminds me what is most important in my life everyday. I know being there is worth any sacrifice you have to make.

It makes me so happy to see Brooke happy again! Actually, I have never seen her so HaPpY before. Andrew is perfect for her and I knew that the first time I met him. He makes her smile and brings out the best in her. I know they will live happily ever after!!

christmas eve breakfast

A few of my favorite things this year- Santa surprising us at Christmas Eve breakfast at my mom & dad’s house - watching macy with santa - the angel band and the mysterious Clue game. Chase making sure the special reindeer food is out on our yard so Santa can find the house. Chase wondering how Santa fits down the chimney – Paige making sure Santa gets a special letter, with one last request – a bell from her favorite reindeer, donner. The Christmas morning excitement!! Staying in our jammies all day. Being Together. Laying in bed and reading my Grandpa Dudley’s history. I’m so LUCKY to be his grand daughter and can’t wait to go see him in February. My necklace from my dad. Yummy food all day, but especially mom’s tenderloin and mashed potatoes. Oh, and you can’t have Christmas without pound cake!
