Doctor Who

Yup! I am definitely one of those crazy nerds obsessed with this weird british tv show.  My question to all of you is, "why aren't you?"  It is this amazing wonderful sci-fi awesomeness that makes you think.  Yes, I know the first episode is kinda weird, but just keep watching.  Trust me.  Then you too will fall in love.  I saw this picture the other day, and it's the most amazing thing.   For those of you who don't know, the guy in the blue box (a time travel ship called the TARDIS) is known as The Doctor.  He travels in time, and often ends up saving the human race.  So please, sit back, and enjoy.

Love, Sarah Anne

P.S. Doctor Who is on Netflix for those of you that have it.

Caramel Apples

I love love LOVE caramel apples.  They are amazing.  My guess is that caramel apples were the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden.  No wonder Eve was tempted.

I made these with my lovely sister and my cousin about a week ago.  They were delicious.  And in the process I decided that someday when I'm this sweet old lady, I shall open a caramel apple shop and I will be happy.  The end.

Les Misérables

Last night, I had the opportunity to go see Les Mis in Seattle! It was one of the most amazing, powerful things I have ever experienced! And getting to go with my best friend, my family, and my cousins made it even better :)  So.  To any of you who have no idea what Les Miserables even is, find out! Read the book, listen to the music, or, if you can, go see the musical.  You will find it is completely worth it!

Soft Pretzels

My new favorite recipe! These pretzels are super delicious and easy to make :)

1 pkg active dry yeast (or 2 1/2 tsp.)
2 TBS brown sugar
1 1/8 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups warm water
4 cups flour
2 cups warm water
2 TBS baking soda
5 TBS melted butter
course salt or cinnamon sugar

In a larger mixing bowl, dissolve yeast, brown sugar, and salt in 1 1/2 cups warm water.  Stir in flour, and knead dough for about 8 minutes.  Place in a greased bowl, and turn to coat the surface. Cover, and let rise for one hour.

Combine 2 cups warm water and baking soda in an 8" square pan.

After dough has risen, cut into 12 pieces.  Roll each piece into a 3 foot rope, about pencil thin.  Twist into a pretzel shape and dip into the baking soda solution.  Place on a greased cookie sheet and let rise for 20 minutes.

Bake at 450 for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.  Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with course salt or cinnamon sugar.

Enjoy :)

Driving

Guess what! I'm learning how to drive! I'm taking drivers' ed with two lovely friends of mine.  And I actually drove a car for the first time last Saturday.  Confession: when I took my foot off the brake and the car started moving for the first time I had a small panic attack and started crying... kinda embarrassing. (Honestly driving has always scared the heck outta me, so cut me a little slack) Yup. So please, to all of you, do the following for me:
-Do not drive when I am.
-Tell you neighbors, family, friends, etc, in the area not to drive when I am.
-Remove any obstacles (such as trashcans, bikes, etc.) from the road and/or sidewalk.
-Stay inside, and keep children and pets inside.
-Eliminate all further distractions and/or obstacles so in the rare/highly unlikely/never gonna happen situation that I end up hitting anything, there wont be anything to hit. ;)

Thank you very much!

Winnie the Pooh

He may have a head full of fluff, but he does seem to have a lot of good stuff to say :)

“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”

“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.”

“It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?”

“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”

“People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.”

“We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?' asked Piglet.
Even longer,' Pooh answered.”

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

“One of the advantages of being disorganized is that one is always having surprising discoveries.”

“Some people care too much. I think it's called love.”

Have a wonderful day!
