Preston's last day of vacation this summer and I took him and Tony down the river from the house to Lock & Dam 5 just above the Amber White Bride going into Bowling Green (Hwy 185). They were surprised that we could hop into a boat at the house and be there in less than an hour.
Preston got 10 turtles. He was shooting turtles and the FBI was near our truck looking for the teen trio who are on the loose and beieved to be in this area. I bet they thought they were getting close when they heard Preston shooting. The FBI drove down to Roma Clemons barn thinking they might be hidden there. The girl of the group once lived at Pine Grove near the creek.

More Turtle

Preston had this 14 pound snapper in his turtle net this morning in Kyle White's pond near the Sunfish Mall.
Preston has about decided to skip school this year and just trap turtles. There is more fun doing that than sitting in a class room.

More Smokies

Because of the strain on the power grid (95 degrees heat) the power plant on upper Big Pigeon in NC had just opened another tunnel of water to start generating. The class 4 rapids then suddenly become a higher class a few minutes before we launched our raft.
Chayse Gladden, myself (in the front ducking my head), and the guide sitting high in the back were apparently the first to see the approaching class 4+ rapids. Chayse’s expression of “OOOooooo….” tells it all !
The front of the raft went under and then the whole raft followed as the wave came over the craft. The guide was thrown forward in the middle of the raft, leaving the stern unattended. After everyone regained their seats and straightened up their helmets, we were off to the next one.

Family Smokies Vacation-Fun!!!

Abby on the zip line

On July 28, Abby Moore, 3, became the youngest child to ever descend, alone, the 2000 ft zip line at Adventure Park in Pigeon Forge, TN. She came off the mountain above a cheering crowd of mesmerized onlookers in good form.
