Back to Normal

It seems that everyone is settling back into their old routines. The most important one is Dallin sleeping through the night again. Everyone is just glad to be home. The weather here is so nice it was 70 yesterday with no wind (a miracle). We played outside and then made flowers out of paper and Popsicle sticks that we took to Bert's office. Today they have fill the very large base pool with trout from a local hatchery for the kids to go fishing in. Then tomorrow there is a Easter party at the community center on base with an egg hunt and blow toys and prizes for FREE. Saturday we have a base Easter Egg hunt for the kids and then its onto the Primary party. Living on a base or near one there is always a ton to be doing. They really try and keep a lot of activities going for families. I am grateful because there is not a lot to do in Altus so anything helps, it also helps me get the kids out doing things.

I would love to hear some of the fun things that you are doing this holiday week?

Great Grandparents

While in Ohio we had the opportunity to go and see my grandparents. Sadie was quite taken with grandpa John and insisted that he sit by her while she ate and that he give the blessing on the food. Grandma helped feed Dallin his lunch and then took some time to dance with the girls. She put some of her old records of the forties on. The girls had never seen a record player before and probably wont see one again for a long time. Sadie wanted grandpa to come join in the dancing fun but she never did get him to dance. We all had a great visit and hope to see them again soon.

Absent

Bert came home and then no sooner did we find out that he had to leave for another 2 weeks. This time we decided to go with him. We all have been in Dayton Ohio for the last 2 wks. While here we have had the opportunity to be hold up in our little apartment style hotel room while there was a major snow storm. Everything just shut down here, they got 15 inches of snow in two days. They do not do a very good job of plowing here so when we did venture out we were a little nervous that we may not make it back from the restaurant. We did but it has been fun to be here with Bert and not stuck back at home by ourselves. I am excited to get home and stay put for a while. I have lots of project for Bert to finish and start. It is also nice to think that he should not be leaving now for quite some time.

With all the free time here I have been designing purses (0n paper) and looking at different fabrics and other materials on the internet. Who knows what will come of it but it has been a lot of fun to do. Soon the realities of life will set back in. When enough of my rambling.
