Lake Time

Makenna made her normal weekend trip to the lake. She went for another boat ride and even went swimming in the lake. Here are a few pictures of her weekend trip.

Grandma Franzen, Makenna, and I spent the afternoon canning green beans today. Before I go back to school we may make homemade salsa, homemade applesauce, and can tomatoes. My garden is loaded with tomatoes, but they just haven't ripened yet. I am getting Makenna started early on these projects. Do I really have to go back to work in 3 weeks? I am having so much fun just being a Mom.

Sweet Corn Time

Ryan and I put up our first batch of sweet corn for the season. Thanks to the help of Ryan's Momo Ackerman, Ryan's Mom, Aunt Jackie, Cousin Dana, Dana's daugher Gracie, my Mom, and Grandma Franzen we got it done in a couple hours. The Dreaded Dr. Appointment

Well, the day finally came that I had to take Makenna back to that mean ole nurse that gives all the shots. She had to have 4 more shots this go around, which surprisingly went rather well. She didn't cry until the 2nd shot and realized she didn't quite like that. She didn't cry near as hard as last time either, which was a relief. I think all the fat on her legs helped out a lot. She now weighs 15 lb 10 oz and is 24 1/2 inches long. The Dr. said I could start her on veggies now, and slowly work her way up to fruits. She said Makenna is doing great.

And this is Makenna after the fact. You can see no more smiling or laughing. It's the "What the Heck Just Happened" look. How funny.

This is what Makenna looks like every morning after her cereal. Believe it or not this was a good day with the messy face.

Makenna has finally found her feet. My niece Kassidi laughed at me when I ran to snap a picture of her doing this. You can also see Makenna's lovely birthmark. She was blessed with 2 of them. One on her leg and the other on her back. She'll just love that when she gets older.

Little Miss Slober Bucket

Little Miss Makenna learned how to spit and spit and spit some more today. She did this for about 10 minutes, just spitting all over the place. She was such a mess, but it was entertaining for her and me. (If you go down to Playlist and pause the songs it makes the video better. You will be able to hear how loud she was.)
