Two Years Ago....

Last Sunday was the 2nd anniversary of Aunt Janet's car accident. It's unbelievable it's been two years already and it's still unbelievable that's she's not with us. I talk to the girls about Aunt Janet often. Makenna will say that her Aunt Janet is in heaven and is now her angel looking down on her. It's so sweet to hear her talk about someone she didn't even know. We also have a poem that I found on facebook. I always saw posts about people talking about pennies and didn't realize what they were talking about it until I saw this poem.

I found a penny today

Just laying on the ground.

But it's not just a penny

This little coin I've found.

Found pennies come from heaven

that's what my Grandpa told me.

He said Angels tossed them down

Oh, how I loved that story!

He said when an Angel misses you

They toss a penny down,

sometimes just to cheer you up

To make a smile out of your frown.

So don't pass by that penny

When you're feeling blue.

It may be a penny from heaven

That an Angel's tossed to you.

It's amazing how exciting it can be to find that penny. It always makes me smile.

This memorial is at Aunt Janet's accident site just down the road from our house.

Silly Girls

Silly girls dancing and singing.

Big Girl

Ryan, Makenna and I are happy to announce that Ashlyn is officially potty trained. She has been going off and on since this summer, so I decided over Christmas break we we're getting this girl completely trained. There were times I wanted to give up, but we stuck to it. Bed time and nap time is a completely different story. Makenna never wore pull-ups or diapers, but Ashlyn is not even close to trying undies at night. She usually fills her diaper up by morning.

We are very proud of our little Ashlyn Eileen.

Happy 2nd Birthday Ian Michael

Happy Happy 2nd Birthday to our sweet nephew, Ian Michael.

Love the cake! So cute!

Uncle Ry Ry sticking with tradition. Ian wasn't sure what to think about getting his hand smashed in the cake.

Ashlyn and Adam

Ashlyn and Adam Wolken (Michael & Kiley Wolken's son) were quite the pair at Ian's birthday party. Ashlyn kept giving him hugs and kisses and wanted him to sit next her.

First Snow

The girls were so excited to wake up the other morning to snow on the ground. Makenna couldn't wait to get her snow pants on and head out to play. Ashlyn it took some convincing to get her out, but she did finally make her way into the snow.

Makenna is ready to play.

She had a snowball fight with her daddy.

Ashlyn got on our homemade sled with again a little convincing. She wasn't quite sure about it.

Ready Ashlyn...Set......

Well she didn't last long. Ryan took off and she fell back, started crying and wanted off.

She's done with sledding.

Daddy got his old 3 wheeler running from when he was a kid. He was excited to have it running again. Makenna was enjoying her ride.

Ashlyn decided she would try a ride with daddy. This ride didn't last long either.

Ashlyn was perfectly content to stand with Cena and watch Makenna enjoy her sled ride.

Makenna the little daredevil wasn't scared of anything.

Again another example of Ashlyn showing she's not a big fan of snow.

Momo Ackerman's Christmas

Christmas night we went to Momo Ackerman's house.

Nana with all her grandkids.
Momo passing out ice cream to all the kiddos.

Look who showed up to Momo's house....Santa.

Santa kept trying to leave and Aunt Julie had to keep telling Santa all the presents weren't passed out yet. His glasses got so fogged up that he couldn't see anything. Everyone got a gift even Baby Ackerman. He/She got BLUE infant hats.

Ashlyn was scared of Santa.

Ashlyn loves her ice cream even without a spoon. What a mess!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day we spent at Grandma Ellis' house.

I LOVE my new lens for my camera.
