Champaign Half Marathon

Candy Franzen and I ran in the Champaign half marathon.  My goal again was to get under 2 hours and I missed it by 24 stinkin' seconds.  GRRRRRR.  Little frustrated with the time, but happy I finished.  Now training begins for Chicago. YIKES!!!!!!

Special Olympics

This past weekend I was very fortunate enough to help coach and cheer kids on at the Special Olympics.  We took 5 kids and all of them placed in at least one event and will be heading on to state in June.  GO Rantoul Crusaders!!!!

Go Jerrence Go!  Jerrence ran the mile and qualified for state.  YAY!

 Jabril ran the 50.
Resting up before his softball throw.

Jabril and Jerrence both got a medal in their running event and posed for a picture with the cop.  She's making a funny face here because Jerrence had his hand on her behind.  HAHA  Look at that smile he's got going on.
 Such a sweetie.  Yay Kiara!
 Yay Jerrence!

River to River Relay

River to River Team
A girl I work with got injured and isn't able to run right now, so she asked me if I wanted to fill her spot on a relay team.  I am so happy I said yes to this because this was such a fun race.  We went down to southern Illinois and started at the Mississippi River and eventually ended up by the Ohio River.  We had a team of 8 girls.  One would run for 3-4 miles and we would pick her up and the next person would run.  We did this for 80 miles.  It was a very long day, but thankfully we had beautiful weather the entire day.

 Candy Franzen ran as well.

Brandi Hedrick was happy when she finished all three of her runs.

It was a very hilly course.

 A team running for Boston.

There were some funny costumes as well.  Here is the Butt team.
 Yay!  The finish line.
