Creator not Creation

CREATOR not CREATION

Deuteronomy 17:2-7

2. If there is any found among you, within any of your gates which the Lord your God gives you, a man or a woman who has been wicked in the sight of the Lord your God, in transgressing His covenant, 3. who has gone and served other gods and worshipped them, either the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded, 4. and it is told to you, and you hear of it, then you shall inquire diligently. And if it is indeed true and certain that such an abomination has been committed in Israel, 5. then you shall bring out to your gates that man or woman who has committed that wicked thing, and shall stone to death that man or woman with stones. 6. Whoever is deserving of death shall be put to death on the testimony of two or three witnesses; he shall not be put to death on the testimony of one witness. 7. The hands of the witnesses shall be the first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you shall put away the evil from among you.

Here in Deuteronomy, it clearly states that it is an abomintation unto God to worship His creation instead of Him the creator.

Abomination (translated from Hebrew) describes absolute and utter revulsionRevulsion — that which may cause stomach ache and vomiting

All abomination is sin but all sin is not abomination.

Example, your child calls their friend a bad name. This is not good and you discipline your child, as you should. But now your child steals something, it isn’t just a disciplinary issue this time, now your child needs discpline but your child and you now have to suffer the consequenses of the stated law, a deeper offense than calling a friend a babd name. In this example, you are probably not repulsed at either offense but the example does reflect varying degrees of sinful behavior.

An abomination to God is a sin that goes against the very fabric of God’s creation design and instruction for our daily living.

This abomination is such a serious offense, described by God, that the punishment is stoning to death to rid Israel of this evil. God even made the provision for the surety of the abomination offense that there had to be 2 or 3 witnesses AND that the witnesses had to throw the first stones.

The law at this time also stated that if a witness was found to be lying, the lying witness would get the punishment they were trying to deliver. The lying witness would be stoned to death. Also, with one lying witness, the truth could then not be found and the person in question would be set free.

God will protect his people, just as a parent would do for their children when danger is near their children. God knew that if anyone in Israel was still worshipping other gods, that this abomination would infect His people. God’s command was to rid Israel of the evil influence for good.

Sin comes with a heavy price tag, heavier than anything we humans can imagine especially when society at large is making excuses for and celebrating sin and abominations. In the Garden of Eden satan coerced Eve to doubt God’s word, just doubt. In contrast, God says that faith in the size of a tiny mustard seed can move mountains. The tiniest doubt of God’s soveriegn word fell and entire world from God for all human-kind. However, the tiniest faith in God can move mountains. We humans are a finicky peoples. Our “boat” can be rocked by the tiniest things WHEN our hearts are not totally dedicated to God. SO, find your “war room” where you and God will be alone and undisturbed, quiet time, prayer time, Bible study. Find you a church home where the Holy Bible is preached and not altered in any way, Sunday School class with the same qualities as the church. I greatly encourage finding a small group Bible study to attend regularly. All us Christians are simply sinners saved by God’s grace with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. God can not look on us humans as we are sinners but, let me tell you, God smiles on us, every one of us Christians through the saving blood of Jesus Christ! Our redeemer lives!! There is NO better life than that of giving your life to Jesus! Easy, no! Worth it, yes! The price tag for eternity in heaven, Jesus paid it for all of us. Jesus will not force you, you have to pray and accept it, accept Him.

I would dearly love to talk to anyone about my Jesus, my Savior, my Lord! Just reach out, today! God bless you all!!

God is good ALL the time/ALL the time God is good!!
