2012 365 #134 - SOS merci

The challenge this week at Shopping our Stash is red white and blue OR stars and stripes...I love to try to combine all of the challenge into one and use all the elements of the challenge in my card, but you don't have to...

this was my attempt at red, white and blue with stars and stripes while trying to not look too American to give to a Canadian teacher as a thank you card...phew...run on sentence pro!!!
Hope it works...

this is more paper from my American Crafts "before it turned to cardstock" collection...sacrificed 4 brand new sheets of paper for this card....and used the very last of my rosette ribbon that I have used so sparingly on my projects....the final little piece used up...found the centre gems at our dollarama for $2...comes with tons of gems which is really sweet cuz I find it hard to find black gems around here for a reasonable price...the button is a vintage one from a bag full of buttons I bought a while back from and estate sale for $1...probably about 300 white and off white buttons in the bag..super cool find...

so let's see what you can come up with this week....

2012 365 #131 - father's day card

The Shopping our Stash Challenge this week is to use stickers....this challenge was a difficult one for me as all my stickers are super old and were not really inspiring to me...plus they are all super girly and I needed to make a father's day card in a hurry...so this is what you get from that combination...I did use lots of sticker letters though...the underside is all made with letters lined up and then the words on the right side are all really really sticky letter stickers...so, lets' see what kind of stickers you are stashing in your stuff and how you use them in this challenge!!!

2012 365 #130 - what's cooking?

This was my week to pick the challenge for the Opus Gluei poohbahs and I decided to do a food related challenge - barbeque...or any other food that fills your fancy...I have had this stamp set forever and cut out all the little hamburgers and hotdogs...they are kind of 3-d but I am not sure if you can tell from the picture???  Let's see what you can come up with for this week's challenge...

2012 365 #129 - more thank you's

the last of the scraps from that page...phew...loving the idea of using up all the bits and pieces before moving on to another project...this was hard though cuz I was at a crop and forgot my solid paper colours and refused to buy any (when I knew I had a dump load at home)...so I had to make do with what was with me...

2012 365 #128 - hanging by a thread

I bought this cute little stamp set at a crop last Friday cuz I thought it was too cute to resist...paper pieced the spools and used up some more of those same scraps...

2012 365 #127 - thanks so much

a quick thank you card from some of the scraps from the last scrapbook page that I made...

2012 365 #126 - meeting Chief

Emily's main goal in Alaska was to meet a sled dog...at first it didn't seem like it was going to happen, but when we docked in one of the ports, there was Chief - a "real life" sled dog.  She was soooo excited when the owner said she could pet him, and he was just loving the attention...made her whole vacation worth while!

2012 365 #125 - sunshine and sunburn

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use up some of your excess hoarded ribbons...well, that is if you are like me, anyway...two or more kinds...this card started out as 7 unused types and some sequins...used those ones once before :)...my mom bought me this stamp and I am loving her...love the "sunburn" I can give her with the markers...soooo much fun...I tried out a new product on the sun, which was just a chipboard circle to start with...rubbed it with this stuff called Inka-gold (have 3 colours of it and thought I had better at least try it out) and this was the result that I got...kind of cool...stamped a Peachy-Keen face on it and that was the only sunshine I saw for the next couple of hours here as we sat in the rain on Saturday morning...let's see how many types of ribbon you can use up this week....

I am going to also link with 52 card pick up this week too...

2012 365 #120 - Josephine

The Opus Gluei challenge this week is "it is all relative" and what better time for a challenge like this to come along than when I had to make a Father's day gift for my father in law...just had to get it done a couple of weeks early and now I won't be rushing at the last minute...wahoozle...this is a picture of my husband's grandmother on his father's side. His dad had this picture of her, but it was folded in the middle (and all the colour had peeled off right across her cheeks and nose) and had some water damage on it so her face was hideous. My hubby has a friend at work who does wonders with photoshop or some other photo fixing software and he totally fixed this picture right up for us...you can't even tell any of the damage (and let me tell you, the picture was in really rough shape)...the difference is amazing. We got a few copies made and I did this page in a scrapbook shadow box for my father in law for father's day - rolled all sixty of those flowers myself too (not that he would even know that they were made out of paper)...thought he could hang it up, as this was his favorite picture of his mom and he was soo upset when the photo was damaged. Hope he likes it.  Come out and play with us this week...let's see what crazy relatives you have hiding in the closet and what you can do with them!!!

2012 365 #121 - quick sympathy card

I made this sympathy card from the idea I came up with from one of the Shopping our Stash bingo cards I made...still had the scraps out and needed a sympathy card for one of the men my hubby works with whos wife passed away last week...
very similar to the other card, just with no tag or ribbon, but why mess with what seems to work??
