Hello everyone!!!What are you up to lately??? anything fun and creative? I did, this is one of the things I love doing and today I am sharing you bits and pieces of what makes me happy :). This photo was taken last week, it was a beautiful Saturday night. Guess what I've been doing under the moonlit night............painting!! :) My very first furniture paint project and I really like how it turned out. The base color is aqua and did a white wash, my husband helped with sanding but the painting is all me. I am SO proud of myself! Anyhow I think nothing can really go wrong on a beautiful night like this. :)
It's halfway done, sanded, primed and painted. I really like the color. I wanted something bright and cheery in my family room, I thought this is a great addition. By the way this is a recycled furniture, I got from work! We moved to a different office and I snatched saved several stuff that would have gone in the dumpster :) I truly scored, spent about 20 dollars on paints, the hardest part of this project is moving it, SO crazy heavy!!!
and with not further ado. here is the finish project incorporated in my family room. I have alot of light in this room as you can see, that's why we picked the cardamonn or brown color paint on the wall to warm it up a little. I love it but I thought a brighter accent is needed.
Oh and by the way, I also painted the fire place, white!!! by myself a should add! The framed art is new, got it last week at a closing store, out of business stores is sad but really good for my budget :). This is super heavy it's made of ceramic tiles, I love it! Can you believe the price tag on this is $1800.00. I was like wwwhhhaaattttt! I think they jack up the price. I will not pay even 500 for it. Anyhow the close out price is 250 dollar, I thought why it's still high :) and we I huggled back and fort until we agreed with 100 dollar, final price. I am from the Philippines and I am expected to use my good-nature haggling at work and succeeded.
Nope, I did not saw the curtain, LOL! I don't do sewing!
Through out my house, you can see some diy projects...........sign of a scrapper :)! I made these photo tiles years ago.
I got the frame of the mirror from a close out store for a bargain price of 9.99, then I went to a glass store and have it fitted for a mirror, for less than 10 dollar each ( I got 3 )
Not everything is a bargain though! I spent a little bit more on these lamps! I love them so why not! I got these at anthropologie, really fun store!
Love this little space in the house as you can see all my DIY projects, the altered letter "C", the paper flower-created for Imaginisce, decorated canvas-created for Quick Quotes. The mirror again I saved from the dumpster at work. :) and the hydrangeas are from my yard!
I love diy projects and my eyes are always open for finds that I can work on, I love the story behind it which makes it special and more personal. I love garage sales, I go to goodwill often and proud of it :) I strongly believed that one man's trash is another man's treasure :)
Thanks for peeking into my simple life!!!!
Adora
