this week...
sadly, this picture x 3 (and sometimes x4!)
pretty much sums up what i remember about this week...
we did have lots of fun and smiles too,
but there was way too much crying.

my stake president spoke in relief society today
and said
"you just do what you can do,
otherwise you won't be able to do anything at all"
i really liked this.
these days, i can't do everything i'd like to,
or lots of times i can't even do the things that i need to...
especially during a week like this past one...
but, i need to remember : "just do what you can do"
easier said than done, though :-)
taking it easy isn't really my strength.
(although, i did take a 2 hour nap today - go me!)
but, you better believe i will be taking it easy
and sitting on my couch
tomorrow night for The Bachelorette!
here is a little more of what our week looked like...
Beck and his puppy dog getting matching band aids at the Dr.
(neither were needed... we were there for another reason,
but Beck told the Dr that his doggie was sick and had an owie.
We have the best Dr and he totally played along...
giving the dog a full exam
and ultimately determining that they both needed red band aids)
my striped pillows finally came...
my new pillows and curtains
(which have been in the works for over a year...
i just couldn't make up my mind?!)
are making me very happy these days
this boy had a few 3+ hour naps this week!
FHE on love followed by soccer in the park
Beck "calling" one of his friends to come over and play
taught this big brodda to help feed the babes...
it's messy & more ends up in Beck's mouth
or elsewhere than in the babes mouths...
but, it keeps everyone happy... for a few minutes.

all in our awesome neighborhood
(Tio's... we didn't feel quite right eating it without you mom!)
these beautiful Mother's Day flowers made me happy all week long.
making cookies and loving the dough!
Beck likes to call the large pile of clean laundry
(which seems to reappear just as soon as i finishing folding it!)
that is usually in our family room

in this picture he is protecting "the pit"...
every time i would pick up something to fold it
he would grab it out of my hand and say
"you can't have that... it's the pit"
preparing for the garage sale late on Friday night.
luckily, it was worthwhile and we made some good $.

silly me.
i haven't been able to find my keys for a few days...
i wasn't worried about it at first and just figured they'd show up somewhere...
but, tonight i got worried
(you know every bad scenario starts running through your head...
& tomorrow is trash day which made me even more motivated to find them).

so, i spent the last couple hours looking for them.
then, just before i started to dig through our trash @ 1 AM
(which is terribly smelly with 3 in diapers!),
i walked by beck's choo choo train, and FINALLY thought to look inside...
seriously, why didn't i look there sooner?
no, really, i'm disappointed in myself that i didn't think to look there sooner.
these are the places, as a mom, i should know to look.
next time, the choo choo is the first place i'm looking!

spoiled.
I started my Mother's Day with a solo walk... ahh... loved it.
I came home to this...
doesn't get much better than that?
Then, we were off to church -
which is always a bit of a challenge with 3 little ones...
but, we survived.
Before his nap,
Beck surprised me with a few of my favorite things...
what a guy!
The boys all took great naps and mostly at the same time
(we're talking 2+ hours!)
- love it when that happens!
Then, Adrian surprised me with some beautiful charms (of the boys initials)
and tickets to see Wicked in a few months.
lucky lucky me!
We then headed off for a little family party at the Brown's...
and were even able to skype with the Monahans when we got home.
pretty much a DCT.
(if only my boys had gotten to bed by 7:30 like i aspire to every day,
it would have been too good to be true.
7:30 tomorrow night, for sure...
especially since the Bachelorette starts!)
THANKS to my boys!
I felt very loved today.

THE ACTUAL DAY:
he woke up to a decorated house & a few presents.
he enjoyed some birthday oatmeal (with sprinkles on top!)
the poor kid was SO sick,
but I took him to the park for a little bit that day anyway.
and, he was SO happy!
then, we met Dad at the local bakery for lunch
(we left the babies at home with a sitter)
that night we celebrated with some mac 'n cheese
and spiderman cupcakes!

and, all the kids loved it, except Beck!
we also set up a little ball pit
(since i had all the balls from Beck's first birthday party)
