They played in the cabinet peek-a-boo for at least a half hour.

11 Months
Eldon is 11 months now. Where has the time gone, and why is my baby growing so fast?? Well... at least his head is growing fast. Stats from the doctor:
Weight: 20 lbs 1.6 oz (39th %ile)
Height: 28.15 in (10th %ile) WHOA!!! Brakvatne-Bennion Genes!
Head Circumference: 19.02 in (98th %ile) WHOA!!! Mecham Head
He is a very solid stander these days, but he refuses to take steps. He can walk if you just hold one of his hands, but not willingly. He squawks A LOT if you take away a prized object of interest, or if he wants a bite of what you're eating. He races to the stairs and tries to get up them as fast as he can before you catch him. Sometimes he'll sneak over and get a few before I catch him. I'll sneak over and make a little noise. He'll look over his shoulder grin and then try to race up. He's still only got 5 teeth. Been months with only 5. It seems 2 more are on their way. He has really started to dance and mimic physical actions. He is saying "nigh-nigh". And then he'll lay his head down. He has been experimenting a lot with the pike position and loves to lay his face on new surfaces. He's clapping his hands and doing "popcorn popping" hands. He, I'm pretty sure, is saying ma ma, da da, hi, and uh-oh, but he'll only say it when you're not expecting it, but he'll just grin at you with a twinkle in his eye like he knows what you want him to do, but he won't repeat it.
When he's tired and I'm holding him. he'll push away from me with both his arms and legs and try to force himself into nursing position. When he's done nursing, he won't snuggle, he pushes away again and looks over his shoulder for his crib. I lay him down on his belly and he moans for a bit while a pat his back. If I try and skip the back pat, he'll stand up and cry. I must do the back pat for 15 seconds, and then I am free to walk away.
He seems like a bottomless pit. He is always munching on things, but then after eating what I think would be quite a bit for him, he cries for more.
Strangers and friends alike always comment on how pleasant he is and how much he smiles. People say it seems his smile is painted on. I assure them that he does have his moments, but in general, he really is a gem. If by chance he does fall asleep in my lap, I hold him for a long time, and put my cheek on his soft cheek and listen to his sweet little nose whistles as he breathes in and out. Those snuggles in the dark are what make motherhood all worth it. I feel like I have to savor those moments with him because they are going and will be gone so fast. I hope my boys still love me even as they grow. Love you, sweet baby boy.
