We had the Disney itch so we flew to Orlando with our good friends, Brianne and Jarod Stewart and their kids. Such a fun trip. We expected the worst with 6 little boys, but they did great, and we had lots of fun.
DAY 1, May 20, 2014 - Arrived in Orlando and headed to our awesome 6 bedroom rental home with a pool. The boys had a blast here!
Brianne had some cute Star Wars Disney shirts made, and I got the boys jammies.
Six boys excited about Disney World. We didn't tell them where we were going until that evening when they opened up their gifts. Lincoln laid awake for a long, long time. When I went in to check on him, I asked him what he was doing, he said he was looking out the window. I asked why and he said cause he was waiting for it to get light out so we could go to Disney World. I told him we couldn't go if he didn't sleep, so he quickly dozed off after that! Too cute! Like Christmas Eve.
Issac (6), Lincoln (5)
Zeke (19m), Eldon (20m)
DAY 2: Magic Kingdom - May 21, 2014
Got there well before the gates opened as per Jarod's game plan. Not a bad plan!!
Stewarts
Adseros
Hit the tea cups the first day.
Under the Sea was a new one.
New and improved Dumbo
A look into my future when Lincoln turns 16. Hopefully he'll be better by then.
Small World
Eldon loved this one, which was good, cause he4 kept saying "scary" on every other ride i.e. Pooh Bear and Peter Pan. We were cruel and took the kids on Haunted Mansion. That's when they all lost it. I actually had a really nostalgic moment in the Haunted Mansion. cause the last time I remember going, I rode with my Grandma Welch who has long since passed away, but I remember her making me look at the dancing ghosts, and her reassuring me that they weren't real and how neat it was they they could make something like that. Lincoln and Bennett weren't quite ready to buy into that logic. Miss that lady!
Jungle Cruise with the Stewarts
Benny had a nap in the stroller. Doesn't quite fit like he used to. Lots of curls popping through the back.
Isaac
The castle
In the rig
Zekers having a pretzel
Trying not to be tired.
Buzz!!! Notice Lincoln's absence. He is terrified. I think it all goes back to this experience several years ago:
Lincoln pouting on the people mover.
At least someone's having fun.
I told him we'd go home if he didn't put on a smile...
New Pirate guns, waiting for the parade.
More waiting for the parade.
Bennett was totally eating this up!!! Lincoln dropped his icecream on the lady next to us. It was SO HOT sitting on the sidewalk that had been baking in the sun all day, but still magical. So fun to see the kids light up.
DAY 3: Animal Kingdom - May 22nd, 2014
Loving the Safari ride.
Can't see it, but Mt. Everest is in the background. It was the fastest and craziest roller coaster at Disney. Bennett wasn't tall enough to go, but Lincoln was and he LOVED it. That and Space Mountain.
Lincoln and Isaac checking out the tiger.
Bennett could not get enough of Mickey!!
Tree of Life
DAY 4: Back at Magic Kingdom - May 23rd, 2014
Disney was open 24 hours for a summer kick off or something so we watched the kids while Bri and Jarod hit Magic Kingdom at 6 AM, and then they took the kids home and put them to bed while Matt and I stayed out till 3 AM. Lots of fun!
Just loving waving at Mickey.
They LOVED Huck Finn's Island. Little boys world!
Coloring while waiting for lunch at the Liberty Tree Tavern.
We talked about how Minnie, Lincoln's cousin, was gonna have a birthday this summer and how her name is like Minnie Mouse, so Lincoln's go that on the mind. Shout out to our girl, Minnie!!
All the boys did the Pirates League at Disney. They were given a pirate name, had their faces painted, and took the pirate oath, and got to meet Captain Jack Sparrow.
Appropriately rode Pirates of the Caribbean afterwards.
Our hot Disney date. Felt like old times, except we just wanted to go to bed like these people...
Sleeping on the dance floor at 2 AM. Not the Man who crawled over to his wheel chair with oxygen tanks. That man know how to party!
DAY 4 - Star Wars Weekend at Hollywood Studios - May 24, 2014
Hugs for Jake!
And where is Lincoln??? Not gonna be coming near anyone in costume.
They did such an awesome job with the fake buildings behind us.
Lincoln loved making his custom Lightsaber.
Nemo show, which was awesome.
Hanging out at the house.
DAY 5 - Went to church, saw the Orlando Temple, visitied Matt's aunt and uncle - May 25th, 2014
The Orlando Temple is REALLY pretty.
DAY 6: Back to where the Magic happens May 26th, 2014
We thought about hitting Epcot, but the boys wouldn't have liked it as much as Magic Kingdom, so back we went.
Pooh Bear
We got to ride the new 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. Lincoln and Isaac got to ride together in the front!
Isaac wasn't so sure, but he ended up really liking all the roller coasters despite lots of tears in anticipation.
At at the "Be Our Guest" restaurant which was, of course, in Beast's castle.
Very cool decor.
There was snow coming down when you looked out the window. Loved it! Super yummy French inspired cuisine, and extremely FAST!!
More Dumbo!
DAY 7 - May 27th, 2014
Everyone left but me and the kids, cause our flights were WAY cheaper the next day, and I was actually really glad because there was a huge storm in Houston, so the Stewarts flew all the way to Houston just to have to turn around and land in New Orleans until the storm cleared. 7 hours on the plane. Matt was delayed an hour or two on his way home, while the boys and I did this:
Let's party!
Went to the Lego Store in Downtown Disney. The boys couldn't get enough!
Built and raced their own cars.
Super cool park a block away from our rental house.
Lincoln insisted I take a picture of their room so they could remember it.
DAY 8: Flew home and tried to do some grocery shopping, and this is what happened on the way. Looks like the trip caught up to everyone. It was a blast, though.
