European Christmas

This is gonna be a big photo dump, cause I just took too many pictures to go through:

On our way. Shortly after, both boys and all the luggage flew off the cart. I almost wet myself laughing. I told Matt not to do it...

Matt surprised me with Julia for my Christmas present. Best Christmas present ever! Stadtpark. Vienna delivered on the winter wonderland.

Not sure he likes his snow suit.

Staying warm with Julia's scarf.

St. Stephen's Cathedral

Couldn't quite capture it but the lights were magical.

Wiener Schnitzel

Schönbrunn Palace and Christmas Market. Mozart played his first concert here at age 6.

Cheers! Kinder punch!

Rathaus (City Hall) Christmas Market

Enjoying (especially Matt) our Kase Krainers (Amazing cheese dogs)

Got interviewed about whether or not we were nervous being there in light of the Berlin Christmas Market attack. Not the best interviewee.

Terrible music, but fun otherwise.

Julia was a great babysitter while the rest of us tried ice skating.

Went inside City Hall to warm up.

Post skate

In front of the possible location of my Great Grandpa Pia's bakery in Vienna, according to government records.

47 (seen above the blue sign) Burggasse

57 Burggasse, another possible location of the bakery, according to family legend.

On the way to the Alps. Photo cred, J.

The little cabin we stayed in in Zellberg, Austria. We thought there would be more snow here. All the ski resorts were man-made snow only. Photo cred. J.

Our little Christmas tree.

Snuggling with sick Bennett by the fire.

Sick Benny. Crazy hives!!

Making ornaments with Auntie J.

The sunlight at this place is magic.

More ornaments.

Christmas Eve dinner... surf and turf, and really greasy potatoes.

Christmas morning.

Breakfast.

A little mole thing. Could probably roll up into a quarter size ball.

A Christmas neck lick from Oliver.

The hills are alive.

Christmas Breakfast.

Burj Khalifa and Big Ben.

Skiing at Gerlos

Skiing

Bennett is ahead. This was after a couple days of lessons. Not bad!! They went on a real run with us later.

Amazing mountians.

Can't get enough of the view.

Muddy trek to the car.

On to Germany!

Nieuschwanstein Castle, supposedly the inspiration for the Disney castle.
Out of focus, but still pretty!

Bennett was pleased to be there.

The guy's other castle on an opposite hill. The winter light is just so amazing!

Such a romantic green valley.

Pretty stunning.

Too zoomed, but so pretty down there.

She was the only one willing to stay still for a pic.

The Clydesdales bringing people up the path were SO SO big!

Look at this light!

Our little apartment in Rothenbur ob der Tauber. This little town is supposedly one of the best preserved Medieval villages.

Red light, green light.

Look at these colors!

By the city wall. 40% of the wall was destroyed, but was later rebuilt  from donations from around the world.

View from atop the wall.

These storefronts are just so amazing. Got too many souvenirs here. Tourist trap!!

Bunch of crazies.

On the way to Prauge.

Prauge was all that it was cracked up to be!!

Fish cleaning people's feet.

Caught a concert at St. Nicholas' Church in Old Town Prague.

Again, amazing light.

Astronomical Clock

Just strolling through Prague

We were kinda shocked by the amount of graffiti.

More amazing Christmas windows.

More graffiti

More graffiti

Church of our Lady before Tyn.

Matt couldn't bear the graffiti, so he closed his eyes.

Lincoln wants a bite.

Oliver spent much of our trip sleeping on my back. My shoulders still need to be adjusted.

Astronomical Clock Tower.

Herds of people.

My most willing photo subjects.

Trdelník Cakes

Took a horse ride around.

Julia, getting the perfect shot.

Our tour bus driver

Pretty surreal.

Now Salzburg:

Do-Re-Mi steps at Maribell Palace in Salzburg.

Julia would make a great governess.

Oliver actually let her hold him!

Fun slide behind Maribell Palace.

Pretty sure this was their favorite part of the whole European Christmas.

Mozart's birthplace.

Running with a lollipop in his mouth in front of the Salzburg Cathedral. We are always the example of what not to do.

Fortress Hohensalzburg up on the hill.

Atop the fortress

Little village in the fortress.

Peace.

Marionette Museum in the fortress. You can always count on Bennett to not smile.

Properly educating the children at the hotel. I was surprised at how much they liked it!

Made lots of Christmas memories! Merry Christmas!!
