January Sampler

Here are a few random happenings:

Went biking with friends. Oliver fell asleep on Jess' back. Lindsey is obviously preggers.

First rain we've seen since being here. Lasted 2 seconds.

So happy about his new hand-me-down light up storm trooper shoes that we got from friends.

He loves mangoes.

He has started climbing the shelves to get himself a choco-pie. He lost his mind when we put a lock on it.

Lincoln had a publishing party at school. He did a book review on the BFG.

He also presented family history on Great Grandma Mecham

Matt discovered the fish market by the port. He is in his happy place.

Pucker up!

Feeding camels at our new favorite park.

He was so brave!

Doesn't this park look like a resort?

Girls Camp

Most of you know that I am in the Young Women leadership at church. I had the chance to go to girls camp with them on Lulu Island which is a man-made island just off the coast of Abu Dhabi. Lots of fun!!

Some, but not all of the crew... on our way to church after a couple of nights in the sand.

Boating to church.

Kym and Brooke

All the girls and the house boat we jumped off of.

Each girl was called on a pretend mission. I was the Chinese teacher. It was fun.

Some of the girls. Kinda funny to have skyscrapers in the background.

Camping near Liwa

A few families (Cores, Soelbergs, and Bensons) from our ward made the trek out to Liwa for some camping. We were not disappointed. The dunes were so fun!

Saw these guys on the way there.

Pretty massive dune. Lincoln near the bottom, then Eldon, then Bennett nearing the top.

Road into where we camped.

Seth and Oliver

The Core and Adsero boys did a little treasure hunt. 4 boys in each fam.

You gotta view this one biggie size. Chillin' with Seth.

Lucy was having so much fun.

Another one worth blowing up. Hanging with Nate and CeCe at the top.

You have to listen carefully, but when you jump in the sand, it'll give you a little toot!

Someone needs to teach me how to do selfies.

Warming up their buns.

Fireside stories by the light of the full moon.

Morning trek up the hill.

I love the beetle tracks. It's funny how you need people in the pics to get the scale. This could be very large sand dunes, but they are just footprints.

Stella was a very determined hiking partner.

Go Stella!! Take note of the Bedouin camel farm in the background.

Magical.

Not Lucy tracks... maybe a cat??

She made it!

Tyler is ready for some action.

Our tent. The amount of tracks we made over the course of our stay was astounding!

The breakfast crew. Sadly, my phone died before I got some better ones of the adults. Fun times had by all, except members of each family threw up in the next few days. Some crazy stomach bug!!
