It seems like all I've had time for lately is slapping a few pics up on here and giving a little snippet explaining them. Boring. And sorry. So, I thought I'd spend a minute or two describing our two little dynamic personalities - Megan and Connor.
Somewhat overshadowed by his sister's birthday party, Connor turned 11 months this week. Uh yeah, he really did. One more month, and he'll be 1! Holy moly. Anyway, his personality is really starting to come out. He's very verbal and thinks he's actually saying something when he babbles. He has a few words in his vocabulary, including "hi", "no-no", "mom-eee", "dada", and a dinosaur roar. He mimics many sounds and actions. If you ask him to, he'll show you his tongue and his head. We're working on ears and belly (eyes are a little scary for someone who has no real control over his fingers). If told "no-no", and he really wants to do something, he gets a little angry. It's funny to watch him throw his hands down and grunt. I laughed out loud the first time he did it. He walks EVERYWHERE. I can't remember the last time I saw him crawl to get someplace. However, with the constant walking comes numerous injuries. He fell face first into the coffee table last night and bled all over the place. The ginormous gash in his lip seems to have healed. He likes to take his toy hammer to anything and everything around the house. He is pretty much fearless, but there are one or two things that scare him to death. For instance, he'll crawl up to the vacuum while it's going, but one of his toys makes a noise that sends him running off in tears. Weird. He pretty much refuses to eat pureed baby food, and would rather eat whatever we're eating no matter how big of a mess it makes. This week alone, he's been head-to-toe alfredo, spaghetti, stir-fry, and pot roast. And he's so proud.
As you probably already know, Megan turned 4 last week. And we hear about it at least 3 times a day. Where everything was prefaced with "When I turn 4", it's now prefaced with "When I turn 5". She really enjoys school and loves to impress us with what she's learned. Whether it's about Martin Luther King or The Pledge of Allegiance or the days of the week, she she soaks up information like a little sponge. It may not be 100% accurate by the time she gets home, but it's pretty close. About 2 weeks ago, she started gymnastics one night a week. They ask for parents not to take pictures, except for on designated nights, so I'm patiently waiting for one of those special nights. She loves it and is doing very well. Megan needs to have a dictionary for a parent because I bet she asks me at least 20 times a day to define words. And let me tell you, that is hard to do. I mean, have you ever tried to define "object", "situation", and "decision" all within the same 3 minutes? Torture. Of course, she is still obsessed with dinosaurs. Her obsession with dinosaurs could take up blog post of its own, but I won't go there right now. She loves to draw, and her drawings are getting better and better every day. Although some of you may not even believe this, Megan just doesn't wear dresses as much as she used to. Amazing. She has a new found respect for pants...it doesn't hurt as much when she swings and slides. The days of dresses are not over because she asks on a daily basis if she can wear a sundress.
Well, that's enough for now. They are a dynamic duo for sure. And I promise to keep the little "picture with snippet" posts to a minimum.
