Andrew Climbs Mt. Rainier

After finishing the Ragnar on Saturday, Andrew decided to climb Mt. Rainier with his friend Josh from high school. If you ask me, I think he's crazy!

The Torchlight Parade

We met up with our family last night at the Torchlight Parade in Seattle. I always enjoy a good parade. All of the kids were in near tears when the Pirates came down the route...Grant (top picture) wasn't so sure of the cannon either.

The Ragnar Relay

This weekend Andrew participated on a team of 12 on the Ragnar Relay. It's a race that goes from Blaine, Washington to the city of Langley. Andrew was responsible for running 3 legs of the race totalling 18 miles (mostly up hill). Very impressive if you ask me. Even more impressive (or stupid) he didn't train AT ALL. Everyone else on the team has been running and training for months. Andrew just decided to do the race cold turkey.

Wedding Video

For those of you who haven't seen our wedding video, here it is! Andrew's brother Bryce put it together for us. Thanks Bryce! We couldn't figure out how to convert the video, so the copy on YouTube isn't the best. Bryce is actually filming the video on his computer screen.

I'm Adenoid Free

On Wednesday I had surgery to remove my adenoids. I knew it was a bad sign when I showed up at Overlake Hospital at 6:45am to find that everyone else who was in the pre-op section of the hospital was under the age of 10. I guess it isn't normal for an adult to have an adenoidechtamy. Needless to say they took the darn suckers out and if you ever want to experience a real sore throat, just go ahead and have a doctor cut your adenoids out. I think this is the best weight loss plan I've ever been on. It is so hard to swallow that eating just isn't worth it (shocking I know to hear me say that eating isn't worth it).

This year we extended our 4th of July celebration to the 5th of July as well. We went to the Kirkland parade on the 4th and watched some of our nieces and nephews in the kiddie parade. We spent the rest of the day at Beaver Lake just relaxing and having a BBQ. That night we went to a fireworks show in Sammamish....they really outdid themselves this year! On the 5th we went back to Beaver Lake with the Moultons and Porters for a day of swimming, jumping on the trampoline, and canoeing. We had a great time!

What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas

The Hoover Dam...try and ignore the sweat slicked bangs. It was so darn hot! We bought cold water at the gift shop and by the time we crossed the bridge the water was almost at boiling point...no kidding!

Andrew and I went to Las Vegas this weekend for his cousin Todd's wedding. We had a great time! It was so fun to spend time with the Moulton family. We had a great time swimming at Megan's house and just hanging out with everyone. This was my first trip to Vegas, and I learned a few things....

1. When you walk down the strip, don't look down.
2. Females cannot walk down the strip after 8pm without wearing very high heels, and as little clothing as possible.
3. Never look directly at the trucks going up and down the strip with advertisements on either side. Remember eyes up, no looking side to side or down.
4. Girls like to wear something I call "booty bags". These are very small dresses that just cover below the buttocks. They tighten around the thighs and poof around the buttocks. They sort of look like the top of a cupcake.
5. The slurpee looking machines on every corner that have delicious sounding flavors like green apple, watermelon, and mango are not your average 7-11 Slurpees.
6. When you park in a parking garage, it is important to remember the floor you parked on. Do you know how hot it can get when you are looking for your car for 30+ minutes in 110 degree weather? Not good.
7. When you can't remember where your car is once, learn from you mistake. It is never a good idea to repeat this mistake 3 or 4 times.
8. You can watch the TV show Cops live on the strip at any time of day.
9. The Freemont Experience is sure an experience. Talk about interesting.
10. Girls get delivered like pizzas....in under 20 minutes or your money back.
