July, August, and the beginning of September

Whew...what a summer!  I don't think we will ever forget the summer of 2013.

Oliver
* Fell while camping at Twin Harbors State Park in Westport, WA and had 2 rocks in his head.  We had to pin him down and I had to pull them out with tweezers.  We drove to Aberdeen to try and find an urgent care to see if he needed stitches.  All we could find was a fire station.  The firemen took a look at him, cleaned the wound, and told us it was too much of a puncture wound to stitch.  We went back to camping and had the worst night sleep of our lives.  Needless to say, we only stayed one night instead of two.
* A few days after coming home from camping, he fell again and hit his head while at Motorcycle Grandma and Grandpa's house.  This time he did get stitches.  I got the "come meet us at the doctors office" call while at work.  I ran to hold him down so they could stitch him up.  Unfortunately I had to go back to work, but I had blood all over my shirt.  Andrew gave me his shirt in the parking lot and I returned to work.  Nothing like smelling like a man at work.
* A week after getting the above mentioned stitches, I got another call at work.  This time it was, "Please meet us at the hospital as soon as possible.  I had to call 911, but everything is fine."  Oliver was jumping on the bed, hit the foot board, and split his head wide open.  This time he was lucky enough to receive a free haircut at the ER, as well as 11 not so free stitches.  We had to cut all of his curls off, which was quite depressing.
* He is slowly starting to talk.  Although he is a man of few words, he is a great communicator.  He shows us exactly what he wants and is an expert pointer and head nodder.
* He is going to be having hernia surgery this Friday, September 20th.  Poor guy can't catch a break.

Elliot
* He had a great summer riding his gray four wheeler at the cabin.  He can now do everything independently.  Andrew is lucky enough to ride on the back of the quad for endless loops around the pit.  Although he is totally capable, we just don't feel right about sending our 3 year old out to ride solo quite yet.
* He still loves riding his bike and has now developed a love for his razor scooter.  He loves to go to the skate park with all of the big kids and ride.
* He continues to impress us with his language.  He says the funniest things and knows words and phrases that we had no clue he even knew.  He has started stuttering which is sometimes frustrating for him, but his speech therapist assures us it is just developmental.
* He has started at his new preschool at Blackwell Elementary.  Although he isn't always a huge fan of going to school, he always comes home as happy as can be.  He loves his new friend "Hook" and talks about her all the time.  It took me a few days to figure out his friend "Hook" is actually Brooke.

Emily & Andrew
* We are now living in the Moulton's home while they are on their mission in Kentucky.  It was a pain to move AGAIN, but we are so grateful the Moultons have entrusted us with their home.  We LOVE having a playroom and a fenced backyard.  I'm worried I'm never going to want to move.
* I am teaching math, science, and social studies in the afternoons this year in a 1st grade class.  I'm loving the new schedule.  I love that it allows me to work out in the morning and spend the morning with my boys.
* Andrew just got a new calling in our new ward to work with the Priest Quorum.  I got called to be the YW Sports Specialist, again!
* We are excited that Marc and Paige and their family are going to be visiting Seattle next weekend.  Britney has committed to play soccer at UW when she graduates and we couldn't be more excited for her!
* Our computer has a virus, so I can't post any pictures.  :(
