I'm going to do my best to catch up on the happenings of the Moulton family from the past 6 months.
Elliot
* Goes to preschool at Blackwell Elementary and is doing great! Although there are tears nearly every morning about not wanting to go to school, he always comes home a happy camper and is excited to tell us about the projects he did at school.
* He continues to be quite the artist. He loves painting and actually creates quite the masterpieces.
* He cried on Christmas morning when Santa didn't bring him a dog. I tried to explain to him that Santa is allergic to dogs and doesn't make them at his workshop.
* When we went to go get Santa pictures, he was hilarious! He would copy whatever the photographer would do. For example, when the photographer would do something silly to get the kids to laugh, Elliot would just mirror what he was doing. He had the entire line of people and all of the Nordstrom employees dying with laughter. Never a dull moment with this kid.
* He now attends primary at church and is a Sunbeam. He isn't so sure about the whole thing, so unfortunately I too now attend Sunbeams on a weekly basis.
* He still LOVES legos and motorcycles!
* He is FINALLY almost potty trained. I told him that kids can't turn 4 unless they are potty trained.
* He likes to tell us that "he's a dad now" when we tell him he can't do things that he wants to do. He is pretty darn convinced he is a dad.
* He can now write his name all by himself. He loves to label all of his work with his name.
* I guess he was jealous of all of the stitches that Oliver has had in his head, so while I was out with my BFF Melanie one night, he decided to jump off the couch and hit his head on the coffee table. My phone was on silent, so Andrew had to call the nail salon to ask me to come home. I came home and drove him to the Children's urgent care. They decided to staple his head instead of doing stitches. The assured me it would be quick and easy. Quick and easy turned in to a total disaster when the staple gun jammed while pressed against his head. The doctor started freaking out (note...if you are a doctor, it is probably best not to freak out in the midst of an emergency). She told me she needed to call the ER and she would be right back. Other nurses then came in to join the fun while I was literally offering Elliot all of Target if he would hold still and stay calm. After about 15 minutes one of the nurses got the gun to release. When the doctor returned she thanked me over and over for remaining so calm. She said she had never seen a parent remain so calm during an emergency like that. I wanted to suggest she do the same next time, but I just smiled and said, "what good does it do to freak out?" Hopefully she read between the lines. A week later we went to have the staple removed and the nurse said, "so you're the famous staple gun stuck to the head kid, huh?" He then proceeded to tell me that the other nurses were giving him a hard time and told him not to get the remover stuck to his head. After we laughed he went to take the staple out and what do you know, the staple broke! Seriously? Again, minor freaking out, and the pieces were finally removed one at a time. They decided that the staple gun didn't malfunction, but the staple itself had some sort of issue. Let's just pray we don't have the need for any more staples to the head in the near future.
* Elliot's new favorite thing to do is to ride the Razor motorcycle around the neighborhood. Of course, he is freakishly good at maneuvering and controlling the motorcycle all by himself.
* He is super excited about turning 4 in a few weeks, but is adamant that the only people who come to his party are Uncle Bryce, Aunt Angelita, and his buddy Blake.
* He just started taking soccer classes at Little Kickers. He loves "going to his soccer team".
Oliver
* OBSESSED with trains.
* He is talking a ton, but still always has a binki in his mouth which makes understanding him a little difficult.
* He loves the movie Frozen and walks around the house singing, "let it gooooo" all the time.
* He loves to tell people that is dad's name is Andwew, mom's name is Emy, and his brother's name is Eyit.
* He doesn't like to wear clothes, he prefers to be nakey all the time. If we make him wear clothes, he will only put on pajamas.
* He is becoming just as picky of an eater as Elliot. He tells us things are "ucky" and "no like it" all the time.
* He loves to play independently when Elliot is at preschool.
* He loves to run and we are convinced he may have a future in running. He can go FOREVER without stopping. His little legs move so fast!
