Merry Christmas

Another year has come and gone and we are celebrating Christmas again.  This year our family is a little bit smaller, but we are together and that is what is most important.  Christmas is a wonderful time of the year that changes the whole spirit in you home and every where you go.  People hearts are usually softer and serve more.  It is amazing what can happen you when you invite Christ into your life on a daily basis.

We continued on the tradition of decorating ornaments for the tree.  As much fun as it is, we decided that next year we are going to draw family names to have an ornament exchange.  It still brings back memories of each Christmas when we look at the ornaments that were given.

Emily went to her moms for Christmas so the girls were very excited to help her with all of her presents.  We made sure to get pictures of her opening the gifts from family far away to be able to say thank you to them for thinking of us.

On Christmas eve we opened up our first gift of Christmas.  The girls got new pajamas and we got a new Christmas move to watch.  It was a movie my brother worked on props for.  Brittlynn wasn't that excited about the movie.  She was kinda scared for some of the parts.  But it ended up being a good experience.  I am glad I was able to support my brother.

I had a tradition growing up as I child that I loved, we would wake up early and we were allowed to get into our stalkings before everyone else was awake.  The girls were so excited to see what they were able to find from Santa in their stalkings.

My favorite part of Christmas morning is watch the girls get so excited over the presents they picked out to give to each other and of course to us.  They are so excited to see the excitement in others.  The gift of giving is a great gift and the true meaning of Christmas.  I hope they always enjoy the reason for the season.

Christmas is here!

We are always so excited for the Christmas we can hardly wait to get out all of our decorations.  As soon as family left we pulled out the tree.  The girls love going through each ornament and remembering the year they made them and what ones were given to them.  I love the Christmas season and I have always loved what spirit comes into a home when it is decorated.  I especially love the excitement the girls have for Christmas.  They could spend all day playing with each Nativity that we have.  It was also great to have Emily home and spend a little bit of time decorating with us.

Thanksgiving

When we found out that we were moving to Idaho I decided that I would invite my family to our house for Thanksgiving.  I wasn't sure if they would all come, but I am not sure how much longer I will live close enough to be able to have us all together.  For a crazy weekend my house was full of my family.  My Mom, my sister Lisa with her family, my brothers with their boys, and Emily were all in my house for two days.  Rebecca drove up with some of her kids and then went back to be with her family in Utah.  To say my house was a little crazy is an understatement, but we were together as a family.  I was able to get a picture of all of us.  It had been so long since we have been together.  The food was great and we laughed, played, and made memories that I we will forever remember.  The weather was perfect for us, maybe a little chilly for the family from Las Vegas, but the kids were able to play outside.

This is the first time we have been able to meet Quinn's son Drake.  The girls had so much fun playing with their boy cousins.  Koyhn, Savannah, and Drake are all born the same year. So we had to get pictures of them together.  We were definitely not short on pictures for the day.

We deep fried our turkey and I under estimated the amount of food that everyone would eat.  I thought two turkeys would be plenty.  With plenty of oil to be used we spent the next day frying everything we could find in our house and my mom had to get two more turkeys.  I guess they all wanted leftovers.

Lisa's family stayed the longest so we took a little break from our house and headed to the park.  Its always an adventure when you go to the park.  Too bad, the sun sets so early here, there wasn't very much time play.  So after dinner we celebrated the start of the Christmas season by watching Eric's Favorite show...Elf.

At the end of the day everyone was exhausted, but happy to have been able to spend time together for the holiday.  The weather was perfect for everyone traveling and we enjoyed having our house of family.
