Wow...it's been a while!

So...as with all things on the "to-do" good intentions were had, but sadly in the endeavor of blogging, the follow through was lack luster. My last entry was in 2010!!! Well, it's resolution time (almost... maybe I will get a jump on new years and make my resolutions BEFORE Christmas even!!!)

A fresh start...

We moved!

We are now the proud residents of Boulder Creek apartments in South Boulder! We got all of our stuff moved in yesterday thanks to lots of help from fam and friends :) Our neighbors even came over to help out. How nice is that?!? We really will miss our neighborhood, everybody was really cool. BUT, we are so happy to have our own place! Its smaller than we are used to, but I like to think that it just makes the concentration of happiness that much higher :P lol. We'll post pics once we get all of our stuff unpacked. YAY!

So...we're moving!

Goodbye roommates, hello peace and sanity!

Due to irreconcilable differences and unconfirmed chemical imbalances our roommies and us are getting a divorce. The trial separation (hiding in our rooms) began on Thursday and Kenny and I will be moving out hopefully on the 27th (this coming Saturday!)

8 days til we live with the screaming banshee no more...

We're not positive where we are going yet, but if all goes according to plan we will be living in our new, tiny (but adorable) apartment in South Boulder by Saturday or Sunday. As of now we are packing like mad and getting ready to close this unfortunate, but relatively short, chapter of our life.

We'll keep y'all posted on where we end up! Stay tuned...

A year in the life of Kenny and Corbyn ...seriously a whole year. Buckle up!

Ok, so despite our best intentions, we so far haven't been very good about staying up to date on the blog, but it's a new year, and we're going to give it another shot. :)

Here's a recap of 2009:

From January to August 2009 Kenny underwent some major lifestyle changes. He started doing the P90X exercise program and added in his own workouts including swimming, biking, and running. It payed off big time: He lost 40 lbs! In the last few months he has picked up barefoot running as a hobby and so far he loves it. He's running around 4 miles 3 times a week with nothing between him and the ground. Could we say that Kenny has lost his soles? Yeah, we could say that!

For our Birthdays in March, my mom and dad surprised us with a trip to Las Vegas! We were shocked...actually beyond shocked. It was the best surprise ever! We had a blast. We went and saw two shows: Cirque du Soleil's Mystere and The Phantom of the Opera! We stayed at the New York New York hotel and our room had a view of the strip! We visited the 4 story M&M shop, we saw the TI sirens, we visited the Bellagio Conservatory, we had dinner at the Venetian hotel, we walked to In-N-Out for lunch every day, we went to the top of the mini Eiffel tower, we won $5 at a slot machine and promptly stopped because you should always quit while you're ahead haha, we went dancing at the club Rok Vegas, we were serenaded by a guy named James the harmonica player, we sang "Piano Man" at the top of our lungs at a piano bar, and we walked the strip 'til our feet were just about to fall off. :) It was an action packed 4 days and we loved all of it.

NYNY, home for 3 nights! It was a way cool place to stay!

Mystere was a great show! My feet were dying because we walked so far and I stupidly wore really high heels, but it was still fun!

Us at the Bellagio Conservatory...so pretty!

Us at Phantom!
We weren't supposed to take pictures in the theater, but we got one.

I don't think you could consider us high rollers, but we were pretty proud of ourselves. haha

Outside Caesar's Palace...the most expensive window shopping experience of our lives. :P

Kenny was (as you can see) really pumped to see the M&M guy. haha.

We had a great summer. I couldn't find a job to save my life (what is one to do with no degree and little experience?) so I did some summer classes and hung out. Kenny and I hiked the flatirons with our prospective roommates, Tyler and Alexa.

In late June we went to Tracy and Armando's wedding in Estes Park, CO. It was so so so beautiful and besides having to run out last minute to find a book for guests to sign, everything went off perfectly without a hitch! We had such a fun time hanging out with all the kids, watching the ceremony and dancing the night away. :)

Just a quick pause in the dancing for a photo. From left to right: Meg (my sis), me, a girl we met at the wedding, and Kenny

This is Kenny and me with one of the little ones, Emma. She really took to Kenny and they hung out most of the afternoon. :) Adorable!

Me and my man <3>

Kenny started the summer off working at Home Depot, but then he got a new job as a teller at Wells Fargo! Unfortunately that started the same week that us Wierzbinski's were going to Coeur d' Alene, ID for a family reunion. :( We all missed having Kenny there, but everyone was really proud of him for getting the new job and sacrificing the fun this time. We're going to try to do another reunion next year and everyone can't wait to meet Kenny!

The family (minus Kenny). We missed him a lot!
Can't wait to bring him next time!

I started my internship for CU Sports Medicine a few weeks before the start of the school year. I work for the Volleyball team as a student athletic trainer and I've learned so many cool things. I did some major rehab for a couple different athletes and it was so amazing to see them progress week to week and finally return to full activity. This position totally confirms my desire to work in health care and I am psyched for PT school.

What can I say? I'm practically famous. HAHAHA! No, but I do have a really cool job. I like it.

At the beginning of August we moved to a little ranch style house in North Boulder. Kenny is a little far from his job in Broomfield, so we're looking at moving south again after our lease is up. We can't wait to find a place that is a little more permanent that 12 months at a time...moving is hard!

I had a really tough fall semester with 19 credits, my internship and no life. Definitely not going to repeat that again, I like actually being able to hang out with Kenny, family, and our friends! Kenny kept pretty busy too, as always! He did 2 jobs and school! He had a really good time reffing rec league basketball at the student rec center... Its safe to say that he might not have been every player's favorite ref, but he was the best ref out there (his bosses said so!) and he made some good friends on the reffing staff.

In October, we went with the Nelsons to Simi Valley/Santa Barbara for Audrey's wedding! It was so fun and Don seemed like a really nice man. Audrey looked so happy. We couldn't be more excited for her!
All of us! :)

The happy couple

Halloween, my favorite holiday, was pretty awesome last year! I actually got Kenny to dress up (that's two years running...I'm on a roll!) and we went to Pearl Street to people watch! We saw some great costumes and we found a Halloween Party with no cover charge. Sweet!

We dressed up as Clark Kent and Lois Lane

My boss, Melisa was at the party. A pleasant surprise :)

Then in December after all the stress of finals was over and the smoke cleared...Kenny Graduated!!! He got his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with an emphasis in Management. Woohoo! He is really ready to get out there and start putting his education to work. Finding a new job is pretty tough right now, but he's got a few good contacts that may lead to a job opportunity in the not too distant future to begin his career. Firefighting is still on the table too, we're just waiting to see what happens in the next year or so as far as possibly moving for my grad school. Fingers crossed that we get to stay in CO, but an adventure to another state would be really exciting too!

The graduate! So handsome and smart! What a catch!

Kenny was excited!

After Kenny's graduation festivities we went on to have a very relaxing break. It was really nice to hang with family and enjoy Christmas and New Years. Santa was very good to us this year and we got that flat screen TV that we'd been eying for some time, but the best part was the people we got to spend time with, and of course the rum cake and 7 layer bars! Kenny and I rung in the new year in a slightly more low key way than some of our friends, but it was a happy new years none the less! Sushi (yumm!) and a movie then watching the ball drop from the warmth of home! :)

So here we are...Year 2010:

I'm still plugging away at undergrad and it looks like I'm never going to get out. haha. On the bright side school is going really well and I feel like I'm putting myself in good position to get into Physical Therapy school. I made the Dean's list last semester and just got approval to do my Honors Thesis! I'm in the process of researching the studies that have already been done in order to nail down my topic and I may be able to start my research as soon as this summer. Yay!

We've finally found time to hang with our amigos lately and boy did we miss them! We went to a costume party last weekend at the girlies' house and it was great!

I dressed up as Flo from the progressive insurance commercials

Kenny dressed up as a hole punched version of Kenny. haha.

Kevin wore his Mad Hatter hat and Beckie was a construction worker
(complete with 5 o'clock shadow!)

Matt and Kristin were the chef from the Muppets and a cupcake super-girl

Kit was a triceratops and Jennifer was a tiger

And Dave was a Boy Scout...Eagle Scout, excuse me. :P

I can't finish the post without mentioning the best cat ever, Oliver! He's doing well. We don't think he's super pumped about living with his feline-roommate Julius (our roommate's cat) but next year he can go back to being an only kitty and maybe acquire a canine sibling instead. Kenny is dying for a dog...Cats aren't very good running/hiking/frisbee buddies, so we're looking to make that happen ASAP. :)

Oliver "the box cat" Wierzbinski - loves boxes...thus the nickname

The weather here is hopefully going to be getting warmer soon and we'll be able to finally get out and do some outdoor adventuring! We have a few trips planned that we haven't gotten around to yet and we can't wait. The biggest one is a trip to Maroon Bells...I've never been there, but the pictures I've seen are fantastic! I'm looking forward to Kenny showing me around.

So there you have it...whew a year and a little bit all in one post...We're going to try REALLY hard to keep this resolution and update this more often.
