The days and years click by

Well, the days and years are clicking on by. I think I might start doing this thing again. Writing and sending a note into the void of over information we call the interwebs. Today I turn 42. Whew. Some days I can't believe that time is flying so fast and some days I feel it in my knees and my back and my energy level. Haha. Age is a funny thing. I know that I am OLD as my kiddos tell me because I use phrases that my parents do. Like, I can remember when we didn't have that.... or like the other day when I had to remind myself that there was a time when I was growing up and there wasn't a computer in my hand or a phone in my pocket (or wrist). I used to call my friends and talk for HOURS. I don't know how my parents survived the teenage years with four girls.

What I know so far is that I love my life, family, and friends. I receive joy every day through interactions with them. My hubby brings so much to my life. He has been my partner for over 25 years and he puts up with my faults and insecurities. He makes me laugh and keeps me safe. These girlies of ours are the bestest kiddos ever. They are just good humans that increase my joy daily with their squishy hugs and deep conversations. I absolutely love being their Mom and having David with me to experience it all. I have lots of amazing people in my life beyond this my family and my fRamily. There is a core group of girls that have been through thick and thin with me and I love how we tease, laugh, love, and support one another. My job is one that I enjoy going to and I don't feel dread getting up in the morning. I've had those jobs and I am very glad to be where I am. I don't make a lot of money, but the days are enjoyable and I get to work with amazing people. That is a great reflection on where things are at with me.
Looking forward I want to see more adventures and wonders of the world. I want to be able to watch these kiddos of mine do their amazing things. I want to get out with David and enjoy the sunlight, the rainfalls, the night skies, and mooses*. I know that is not grammatically correct, love me anyway. I think I have more do to with my time here. I'll get to that.

The Lost Art of an Audience

Am I showing my age? Am I just getting cross and old bitty?
I have noticed more and more that we as a society are quite RUDE as an audience.
Even us adults are quite rude. I have attended my kids concerts and professional events where people continue to talk as the talent is preforming. We use our phones (even on silence the light is annoying). I am just so disappointed in the INABILITY to just soak up a performance and enjoy our time.

We need to grow up. We need to show some sincere appreciation for all we have.

New Schools and Beginnings

OMG! I am away working in San Diego while my girlies are starting school. I am so glad that David could be there and help them navigate the first day. These girls look pretty sparkly and ready to start the year off right. Lola has a crazy schedule that has her running around the school all day (partially my fault since I asked for Spanish AFTER the school had assigned her electives). B is out in portables where her teacher splits the class between her and another teacher. So fun! Both girls reported in that the first day was good and that they were doing fine.

Closing the Gates

The new place doesn't have a "cage" for our beast master. But we have the perfect home for allowing him to run around and around without supervision....so, we decided to put up a fence. We found this awesome option of using hog wire fencing. We made the posts to go around and VIOLA...we now have gates we can close in order to keep Scout around the house.

We've MOVED...(again)

Oh man! We are good at this whole moving thing. I hope that I can stop saying that though. I LOVED our Ned town and space and nature and everything....but finding a home that was affordable wasn't happening. We searched for over two years and everything that was decent was just beyond our reach and money wasn't going to change anytime soon. So, what do you do? You find the perfect home online, make arrangements with work to allow a change in venue, and JUMP. We put in an offer without physically seeing it other than a facetime walk through. I never actually saw it until we signed the papers. HAHA. (David + the girls did get a peak during an inspection). Turns out you can fall in love online and you can be totally happy with 1 bathroom for three girls. ...long term this may be a challenge... Loving our move. Let's keep in touch and see how this grows.

Swimming fun

We got an invite to our friends to play at their pool. It was fun to get cooled off and hang with some friends. Moving is hard, but this was a nice reprieve.

Saws and slaws

Helping our neighbors and getting their yard ship shape. It was a big group effort and so fun to meet some new people and enjoy giving time and friendship. Luckily it was only 4 hours cause it was hard work. The girls did a great job and found some friends to play with too.

Learning to sk8

Lola got her roller blades and Beatrix got a sk8 board so we got out and started learning how to ride them. We met a nice boy named Wild who helped Beatrix with her board. It was a shaky start, but it was a start.

Playing with reptiles and making Plays

Bonnie & Sadie came up to visit with us for the day. We started off by attending the Reptile show at the Wild Bear Ecology Center. It was cool. There were five kids from a family that brought six or seven different reptiles to talk to the kids about. It was neat to see how excited the kids were to share their knowledge and teach other kids about it.My girls were even brave enough to hold a few.

Afterwards we headed to the Carousel for a dose of Happiness and if that wasn't enough the girls all headed up the stairs and put on two different puppet shows for us. Haha...they were too funny. I loved having some friends up to visit with. Even one of my own. Ms. Bonnie is a special person. So lucky I met her.

Upstate Rubdown @ Stage Stop

On our local FB page there was info about a fun group coming to play at the Stage Stop. This is located just the next town over. I listened to a quick moment of their music and thought...this would be fun. We headed over and grabbed lunch and a few songs. It was great. They had a wonderful harmony and folksy vibe. It was a great way to get some music therapy and share it with the fam.
