Oh what a blustery day in Davis County last week! yippee! When I left for work last Thursday morning, I could hardly manage to walk to my car because of the strong WINDS. It honestly looked like dadgum WWIII outside. Every house in the surrounding cities lost power for 24+ hours. I came home early from school on Thursday and then took the day off on Friday because we slept over at my parent's house in South Jordan on Thursday night. Our power was luckily restored Friday around 4:00 pm but many families in our ward did not have power until late Sunday night. We had very minimal damage to our home and we feel very blessed. Lessons learned? Well, we now realize what provisions we need to gather so that we can be better prepared for the next episode.
The Sunday after, we went to church and our bishop stood up after the sacrament and said that we will be cancelling church and everyone needs to go home and put on their service clothes. All the men in the ward met back at the church at 10:30 and went to work. Jared helped fix 16 roofs in our ward and it was so awesome to see everyone come together and serve. Best church day ever! We drove around Bountiful and Centerville the next day and snapped some
cool pictures. These pictures are from our family, ward members and
random homes.
