While im driving to work today, outta sudden or shall i say this song Quit Playing Games & All I Have by BackStreetBoys bring me back to 2 decades back...
Studying @ APGS, living with my grands & cousins....
During that time, BSB boy band are the "in" band. Me & cousins are all crazily in love with them. We bought their album, record their MTVs when it is played in TV. Well that time we're still using VCR. And i doesnt know where or how my superbly brain "know-how-to" use the recorder to records it in tape. Well...i know u guys must be saying "geezz...juz press that damn REC button"!
Well...it is BUT, that time i'm not sure how or why my Uncle Alan set the recoder & wiring becomes so complicated....i gotta do some bypass, plug here, unplug that...and so happen that VCR's wiring are so "ill-treated" i can see the blue, brown & green wires...so after much fixing & nearly die bcos the electric pass-thru my body to grown (i really can feel the current running from my finger to my shoulder, head, body, feet & down to earth) it happened so damn fast & i tot my ever so pest cousin bro hit me frm the back! (well, no1 in the living room that time) so i know is def. the electric! Well..sad story & mechanical aside...i manage to record my ever so handsome BSB MTV!! Once my cousin sis knows that i can record it, they start to learn & we're actually FIGHTING to record whatever MTVs shows in TV! Really FIGHT!! CAT FIGHT! Meeoowww....but then, we set the rules, whoever HAD the MTV, shud gv the chance to others, & it will start with whoever fast enof to put in the tape! well...i always lose! lol...
Also that time our cousins bro from 1st uncle family have PC (they're the first ever family hv PC) They start teasing us that they can have them in the PC Wall paper, also can capture screen! geezz....so me & my 2 cousin sis (peng & sim) go over to their house & become a pest!! Pestering our cousin bros Chew or Hup cos that time they're the GENIOUS in computers! Specially my same age cousin bro Chew! We start to play their MTV & they said we can press the Print Screen whenever we find the part we like. So 3 of us like crazy girls been pressing non stop! Until their PC get HANG! LoLzz....
Then those guys start to laugh non stop when they see the results...why? bcos most of the screen we capture is not those we want...either the head been chop off or only capture the BoyBand's CHEST!! Woohoo...cousin bros start teasing saying im so pervert!! geezz...my face turn all red!
Staying together, goto the same school as my cousins are the best moments ever! We even goto the same tuition centers!! But we say the different thing when we're young :P
We shout at each other, we stop talking to each other, fighting with cousin bros(really fight!! i remember wrestling with their bro!! surprisingly that time i really hv so much energy to kick, punch & wrestle with him!) until my aunt cant stand us fighting, she cane all of us!! Lolz! Well after that the whole house full with cries, even more shout & blames!!
She started it first...he hit me first...she said she dun wanna fren with me...she bla bla bla...
During school holidays, my aunt get even more headaches...why? Bcos 5 families kids all stay together in my grands house!!
2nd Family - 2 sons from Spore & they're the MOST naughtiest (well...Ren, dun u deny it!! U & ur bro fight like those WWF ppl!) U scare the hell outta us!
3rd Family who's staying in the house - 3 girls & 2 boys
4th Famiily - 2 girls & 2 boys (well, the eldest boy also vr nottie!! stubborn as well)
7th Family - 1 girl & 1 boy (oh they're still baby! Pearly roughly ard 5 yrs old?)
and me & my 2 siblings!
Whoa...can u imagine 14 KIDS in 1 house?! Is like CHAOS!!! When every1 happily playing together, well that is not a prob...when 1 of them start fighting...juz pray that my Aunt have the damn CANE with her! WHAHAHAHA.....
But the cane is NOT useful on Ren & his bro...u gotta bodily REMOVE them from each other...cos they're sticking to each other! "Kissing & hugging"!! whahaha....uurgg....disgusting! nah...is not really KISSING! swearing & punching & kicking is more like it!
Oh yeah...evening time, we will cycle out to "sua ting" to buy snacks! some times we even cycle farther...well first few times of cos we get lecture(when she's in the good mood) from my aunt...when she's in really bad mood...please be prepared to get red on ur skin!
We play badminton, baseball, soccer, yoyo, gasing, guli, 5 stone, lompat getah, singing, acting, studying(na...not really STUDY! but we pretend 1 of us is teacher)! snapping pic, wearing my ber yee's clothes....whahaha...well, we hv lotsa activities! Of cos we gotta do house chores as well...clean the floor, iron our own uniform, cooking!
Did u know how we play baseball?? We're lucky to hv a big compound! Not sure where my cousin bro get the tennis ball & this tennis ball becomes our baseball's ball!, a wood/plank becomes our bat! My cousin Sim can really hit!! We always gets home run when she's the 1 hitting! And sometimes it also caused the whole game end early cos the ball goes up to the roof!! hahhaha...and the next morning somehow it will roll back down!
As for soccer, well, when those guys in need of ppl, or wen we girls too bored, we'll join them! i always the 1 to join cos im too much of a tomboy! i even watch football with them! Always soccer will ends with cries...swearing...cursing...when 1 of them lost! I always remember Bey is the 1 who complaint the most! lolz...
Also sometimes those guys gotta run down the big drain to collect the ball! is very dangerous & we always do this when no adults see us! why? because the water current somedays will be very strong! and the drain is kinda deep & also is a house for a damn superbly BIG iguana? no...what is the name of the creature bigger than iguna? looks like crocodile to me!
IT IS that big!! CROCODILE!!! i remembered tat we always hv them to visit our house & our dogs to chase & fight with that creature! Well, if our dogs won, they'll hv the creature as dinner & they always win & get delicious dinner! the dogs really FINISHED the whole damn thing!
Usually they wont finish their rice (yeap, we serve them rice & some bones)!
We have cats as well...and the cats..geezz i hate them! always piss on our school shoes! i nearly kill them! But my cousin Peng is animal lover! always protect them! arrgg...Always these cat, either they want to show how BRAVE they are or trying to show off or watever...they always wanna run out, well we will let them IF those dogs in not on the loose! Always give us prob! or come back hurt cos our dogs bite them! stupid cats! IDIOT!
There's 1 memorable thing...but im sure Pearly dun like this part! lolz...sorry girl...but is funny as well as memorable!
We're playing Jaws (after few times watching Jaws series) Me, Pearly, Peng sitting on a big pillow, Sim becomes the Jaws, holding the toy sweering ard us...i get tooo excited & not sure how i accidently pushed Pearly off the pillow & she knock her face on the floor...of cos she cried so loudly & since she's still a child, everyone scolding me, carry her, hug her...when some1 carry her facing up, we all shock! because her mouth full with Blood!! I started to get pale...omg...i kill her!! this is wat i think that time!
But when Uncle Alan (her dad) take a closer look, is actually her 2 front tooth gone! Then everyone start laughing non stop!! We call her "Nga chat soe" from a movie where a guy doesnt hv front tooth!! She of cos, laugh & cry at the same time & hate me so so much!! Sorry Pearly!! But now, u're lovely!! Dun worry, i ease you from the pain...i know ur tooth already loose & i help u to pull it off fast & efficient w/o ur notice! whahhaa...bla bla bla...yeah juz some silly reason!
Before bed time, we have our girlie secret moment, setting silly expectation on our future bf/husband..but look at us now, all the criteria & expectation we set, mostly is not in our current bf/husband...bcos those things only exist in fairy tales :)
Since we cant have our fairy tales's expectation husband, i do wish that we have happiness, trust, faithfulness in each & everyone relationship!
After 2 decades...everyone have their own life...some moves out, some married with children, & we seldom meet each other anymore!
I do wish we can back to that moment....but when we're 2 decades back, we wish the time to Fast forward to 2 decades after! funny isnt it?!
I really miss those moments! Miss being with my cousins, grands, uncles & aunties! Miss all the fighting, screaming, crying, girls secret moment, everyone in 1 house, 1 room! so happening!
Gosh...i've lots more to say but 2 decades memories cant be all in 1 day & page...those happy & sad moments always be in our heart...how we support each other to overcome obstacles...how we help each other during festives seasons...
