CNY makan-ing
Met up with Des, Ben, Tuck for Lunch at Billy Bombers yest. sort of a small reunion for our small clique. =) Set lunch there was quite decent, but a bit costly. We took the Citibank Set lunch at $25.90++ and in total, set us at about $30 each.
Our 4 different drinks. Chocolate milkshake, 2 X Vanilla milkshake, Strawberry champange.
Des's set lunch. Ribs and Chicken with black pepper sauce, served with potato salad.
Surf and turf set, Sirloin steak and Fish & Chips served with fries.
Thereafter, went to my place to play MJ and cards. won a bit of money. recoup what I've lost for the past few days le. But still barely even... Oh well.. It's new year now.. Just playing for the fun of it. Not making a living out of it anyway...
On fri night, Edwin invited us to his place for dinner. Last year went to his place, only HC, dear and me plus edwin. eat till bao bao. This year, it's 100% attendance liao. 8 of us. Can manage to clear many of the dishes lo.. And finally, they believe how well Edwin's mum can cook.
Started off the dinner with Lou Hei.. Hand cut by Auntie.. Then followed by " leng pan" Swee swee.. Think my fav dish for the night was the fish maw soup. Too anxious to start giving it out that I forgot to take photo of it >.<>

Happy Chinese New Year
Happy Moo Moo year to all..
Have been away in Malaysia and busy with all the hoo-Ha of CNY that I've got no time to blog till now.. Phew.. CNY is always such a busy period for my family, and this year, there's no difference.
Went in to Muar, My dad's hometown on sat morning, took a long bus ride, before settling ourselves in the little kampong. Such a familiar place that hasn't change a bit since 20yrs ago. Did a bit of shopping at the ONLY shopping centre there, THE STORE. quite happy to be able to get my pair of white berms. have been searching ard for quite some time le. =D
Thereafter, went to my 2nd uncle's house for steamboat dinner. Trademark dish every year is the deep fried Pork ribs. Specially made for my sis. It's nice, but then hor, I never like to eat too many of the same dishes all the time.

Transportation there is a problem, cos no proper public transport. Have to drive ard. Luckily, my cousin was nice enough to be our Ahmad for that 2 days. His car a bit cool. Enter the car, machiam enter a Safari jeep. Whole car pasted with white tiger fur. ( it's just sticker, not real de)
That cousin of mine, he got such a cute daughter.. 1yr 3months only, so playful liao. Got a really cute way of rejecting ppl's approach when ppl try to " bao bao " she'll wave frantically and smile. lolz..
This is the childhood toy. This has definitely left a VERY very deep impression on me. Cos I got burn by one whole bunch of firesticks. resulting in my finger being burnt, and as a result, swell for 3weeks. Still, I'm still going to play it. Haa...
At the entrance of the house. All the lantern were manually installed. Including the wire, the bulb, cutting the length of wire, hanging, etc.

It was total relaxation inside there, cos I can't do anything. No internet, no SCV, no games. Tried to study there, but lights will disturb all the rest of the ppl, since the ceiling light can be seen from all the other rooms. And so. I got nothing to do by 12midnight, and I have to go and sleep as well. Seriously can't remember when was the last time I slept so early. This is party why I want to go for short holidays every now and then. Give myself total relaxation.. =)

This is just the part in Malaysia. Visiting the relatives were resumed in Singapore, and it was the routine visiting to all the relatives. Ended at 2am. Loonngg Looonnngg day. shall not talk abt it now.

Yesterday, was at Dear's place.. Then we had our little chocolate fondune. Courtesy of Shaw tower, when we had our dinner at the turkish restaurant. COT, when we go to Edwin's place, I'll bring this k. Bought the chocolate button and hershey's dark chocolate. not too sweet, not too sticky.. jUst nice.

breakfast/lunch/dinner at Crystal Jade
Finally, the weekend is here. A week long of sch followed by tuition everyday is really tiring. Reaching back at 11pm almost daily, that's not exactly what you would want. Oh well.. Shall not complain too much abt it, but to live on with whatever I can have. Life is good.. =)
Just now, in the afternoon, went to watch Red Cliff 2 at PS. This was to finish up the previous sequel some time back. Quite like the show, with all the interesting war tactics, chim chim chinese phrases. so much Mo shui. it's actually quite like the original story, Romance of the 3 kingdoms, but of cos they are not fighting cos of a woman lar.. Movie always add in all these for a bit more taste. Anyway, I think it's worth it to watch it at the Cinema. The sound effects and feelings you get, sure different de.
Thereafter, did a bit of shopping... eventually ended up in Crystal Jade. Due to the upcoming CNY, there were a few new dishes available. We tried the Roast duck with Curry, steamed scallop with diced chilli, Ee Fu noodle, Crystal Jade "wan zai" porridge. The noodle and porridge, so so only. My fav porridge is no longer in the menu liao. So sad.. Cannot find it at any of the chains anymore. The Roast Duck was not bad, just that it's a bit oily. HA. Steamed scallop was perhaps the better dishes for the night. The mixture of spices goes well with the light sweet taste of the scallop. yum yum!!

This sem is proving to be one of the toughest I would have encountered so far. The time table is mad. 10-4 for 2 days, and 12-6 for the other 3. No free day. It's bad. I really need it for my own revision and to do things. Having tuition on 4 days a week, with the other day being spent on bridge, ALL 5 weekdays are taken. Only thing that it good is that my weekends are totally free. but still.. reaching home everyday at 11+ pm is no joke. Just imagine how much time I'm left with. Sighz.. Wonder how I'll cope with this.

Oh man.. quite a lot of things happened for the past few days.. shall slowly blog it down.. and Today is the start of the new semester!!! Guess what? I overslept and missed the first lesson of the sem. What a way to start off.. Woot!! thankfully, it's web casted. lol..
So in place of the lecture. I went to Suntec Convention Centre, Lobby there for Porridge Buffet. Joaquim, the name of the restaurant. Price of $9.80 nett. For teo chew style porridge, with many dishes to choose from. Think it's quite worth the money.
Just some of the many small dishes we took. There were still some other varieties. See so many dishes, no need eat, also shiok..
Alright.. Shall begin with what happen some time back.. Went to old airport road there to makan with dear.. queued for quite some time before we managed to get the famous Kway Chap there. It's better than the usual one that u normally get, but only for certain things. E.g. The zhu du is good, the big intestine is good. But the fen chang was just normal. All in all, the food was quite worth the wait. Will go back when free to eat.. Especially the lor Mee there. That day the queue was so long lor. MUST go back and try again.
Okay, this is a bit random.. what's this? This is dear, her sis and me playing mini MJ set on her bed. It was out of random that we wanted to play MJ, that was just after us playing scrabble can.. Lolx. I think the last time I played scrabble was perhaps in secondary. Almost a decade liao.. =X

On sat morning, met Teck wei to go asics shoe to buy a new pair of running shoes. Decided to spend a bit to prepare myself for this new year of running events. yes, I still got 2 other pairs at the moment, but one pair decommision, sole coming out. Only one pair left. Need another pair to rotate ard with. =D Was deciding between Asics Kayano, and this GT1130. Kayano's support is definitely better. But the price tag of $220 after 20% discount still a bit too steep for me liao. So settled for Asics GT 1130. $189 . After a 30% discount only $130. Affordable, hopefully can last me a year. This pair of new running shoes has continued my tradition of buying a new pair every year.. Woot!! Half marathon, here I come for u.. Anyway.. Got this special price cos of contacts knowing the distributor. can only visit the shop upon appointment de. Some ulu Genting lane along macpherson rd.
Love the plain simple blue strips that goes so well with the white base..
Thereafter went to KFC,( kallang food centre), to relinquish our good old days where we'll have lunch after sch. ( back in VS days. ) Don't xiao kan this plate of duck rice. It's very nice lor. The meat is juicy and soft, tgt with the delicious dark sauce, it goes so well together. Furthermore at a cost of only $2.50. How often do u find such nice food at this price.
Sat night, had dinner with lynal, Xinyi, Bijie and Zhipeng. It was to celebrate Lynal's bdae. And it was held at East Coast Jumbo seafood. Like not ex... ZzZ.... We ordered quite a lot of dishes for just 4 ppl, cos Zhipeng not eating. The list is as such... One black Pepper Crab, One Chilli Crab, a plate of Butter prawn cooked in Cereals, Half a Chicken, Seafood paste stuffed in you tiao, 8 Man tou, and Kang kong. The food was good. The thing I remembered most wa the butter prawns. The prawns are big and fresh, with sooooo much cereals. Shiok!

Xinyi bought this cake from gelare. Cookies and cream ice cream Cake. It's nice, and really ICE-cream. so hard and solid that the plastic knife cannot cut. BUT BUT BUT!! This small tiny cake, think less than 500g, goes at $42. Had no choice but to share all the cost. This cake plus the dinner to split by 3 ppl ONLY. wa kaoz.. damn chor can. T_T
One dinner like that, set me back $57. pocket bleed..
Next time must tell them don't eat so ex. They working, me student. Imbal. Cannot.

birdy ppl
Just had a blood boiling incident when I was going for lunch just now. Was on my bicycle, SLOWLY cycling, at my sis's walking pace, tgt with her bf to polyclinic there for lunch. Was looking ard the path, and suddenly heard someone said " Cycle cyle, Don't know how to look carefully arh.. talk talk talk. "
Of cos I'm stunned.. I wasn't even talking. My sis and her bf was talking to each other. I was just cycling by their side. turned back and see who made that comment, and there was a guy, 30+ 40, staring fiercely at me. Like wth. What have I done. turned back and look at what ridiculous person is this. Then he shouted again. " unhappy arh .. don't know how to cycle is it. " ( starting to walk towards us)
Then it sparked an arguement. with me reasoning with him that it is a cyclist path, and he should be looking out for cyclist instead. And how can he claim that I'm not paying attention. How does he know what I'm looking at. Did I hit anyone? Did I move zig-zag? NO! He's just an ass trying to find trouble. Then even threaten to call police. how childish. I replied" call police? go ahead.. you want to call using my phone? I'll be here waiting for them to come. Let's see what happens. " Thereafter, after being bombarded by me and my sis .. he was at a loss of what to say le. No good words could come out of his filthy mouth, that he has to use vulgarities. LOSER. limited vocab and eng. but still insulting my parents is a bit overboard. First time see my sis scold back at ppl using those words.. lolx... He also stunned..

I'm really getting very frustrated by Singaporean drivers. Not only am I encountering reckless on the road, also while I'm cycling, I'm facing that regularly too. Come on.. you reckless fools are playing around with not only your own life, but others as well. you don't treasure your life, we do.. or.. at least, I do..
Recently, I've been cycling ard, and almost every time, I'll meet with some close shave. Just like today, when I was cycling from home to tuition at east coast, I was obviously in the right of way. going straight.. A blue hunchback Suzuki Swift, female driver had to ignore my presence and make a right turn across 3 lanes, cutting my lane.. WTH!!! that forced me to jam break my bicycle, with my hind wheels lifted up a bit due to the sudden breaking force, I almost lost control. I was already travelling slower than usual cos I was not in cycling gear and attire, playing safe. and I still have to encounter such idiot drivers.
YOU ARE ENDANGERING OTHERS.
no wonder there are so many accidents along the road every day. with such uncourteous and bad driving attitudes drivers roaming the streets.
We can only do so much to play safe.. at the end of the day, how safe the roads are depends on what the others do as well.

Sungei Buloh..
This post is a bit old liao.. Didn't really have the time to blog abt it.. So now it comes..
On sunday, went to Sungei Buloh with ms, des, Jo, and dear.. It started with a random conversation with ms regarding nature. Then I suggested going to Sungei Buloh to do some sight seeing and getting close to nature. immediately set a date and off we go.. lolx..
We started the day at Sungei buloh slightly past 1.30pm. And it was high tide. A bit spoiler, cos it's a wetland nature reserve. High tide see what.. All submerged in the water liao. Nevertheless, we still walk ard, hoping to spot what little things we can find along the way. There was still some interested things, including the tree climbing crab, the super big mud skipper, the monitor lizard. Not much of migratory birds were spotted, even though now is the season. It depends on luck to see them actually. Can always try to go there to look look see see again.
It's being quite some time since I last visited a nature reserve. Enjoys being near nature... Good feeling.. =)

Just yest, Meng siong treated daniel n me to aston. that was to fufil the pact that he made regarding obtaining his target CAP. We went to Katong's branch and chat along while eating. Food there, seriously, is quite worth the money. Not say exceptional good, but for the price that you pay, I think it's of high quality le. where else can u find a nice pork chop in a restaurant at $8.90.. A ribeye steak at $15.90.. etc..
The ribeye steak that I ordered, not fully satisfied with how it was done, cos I ordered medium, and it came out to be close to well done.. Oh well, it still tasted juicy and good... =D

Went to downtown east to have a little countdown to 2009. It's actually my first countdown.. Normally don't go for such things de.. also feel old liao lar.
Was joined by my sis and her bf, and the appearance of them did make it a bit more lively.. my sis, as per usual, a bit siao siao, will play ard and hype up. lolx.. Highlight of the countdown was " cao ge " His songs are the only thing that's nice, the rest of the singers a bit CMI. Oh well.. Just hang ard and have a bit of fun lar huh.. =)
