It's week 7 .. damn fast.. For the past week, I haven't been doing much.. This few days, picking up the pace again. The feeling of studying is back.. thankfully. Need to push on for 7 more weeks. No time to slack le.
seriously, results doesnt' reflect my efforts. it's the sad truth which I've learnt to accept.. Hopefully it'll not hinder my future progression and with my determination and drive, I will overcome that weakness of mine...

Dear's Bdae
Went to Serenity Spanish Bar & Restaurant, at Vivocity to celebrate Dear's Bdae. It's a nice place for chill out, and nice spanish food. Well, this is my first time trying spanish food and I think it's not bad.. =D Price was decent too. Without drinks, it's abt $30 per pax. with drinks, $45 per pax.
Bdae gal with her nice nice balloon.

We started off the meal with Tapas, (Starter in Spanish )
Panado de Panquo ( juicy chicken serve with capsicum, onion and mozzarella cheese baked between tortillas)
Yummy.. goes well with the sauce, with the mozzarella cheese nicely bake.

The main dish.. Traditional Spanish food.. Paella Valenciana (Saffron, Chicken, Spanish chorizo, Prawns, squid, half shell mussels, rice)
Not bad, feels latin america when eating it.. haha... The rice is a little wet, clumpy kind and the seafood in it is fresh, whole dish smells nice..

Tried some spanish liquor, Teichenne Schnapps ( peach flavour ) 20% alcohol, still okay..

El Orgasmo de Bettina .. The description and the name made us want to try this drink.. =P

The nice and friendly staff prepared the warm brownie and a Happy birthday song for my darling.. It's always nice to have a live band there. And hor, their singing not bad.. Volume not too loud also. comfortable to chit chat in that nice ambience..
Decor till very nice right...

Bdae gal..

After an enjoyable dinner..

Wishing you a happy 23rd Bdae...

Prawning at Pasir Ris town park
went to pasir ris town park for prawning this afternoon. Didn't know that there's such a close one near my house lor. haha.. so convenient now. Went there with fang ard 1.30pm, only to know that the prawns haven't been replenish.. so we decided to wait for a while.. eventually ard 2 plus, the stock came in.. Over here, they provide salt water prawning and freshwater prawning. freshwater prawning have the big headed prawn, while the saltwater one is the tiger prawn..
having tried fresh water prawning before, we decided to challenge the salt water prawn, plus it's supposed to taste better... For the first 2hr, i suffered drought.. i caught ZERO can. feed the tiger prawns till full full, happily eat my bait don't want to be hooked up. No skill la... so different from fresh water prawning.. this one requires more skill. still need to follow the prawn ard abit.. machiam playing with them. fang faired better, catching 2 early on.. and eventually ended with abt 9. thankfully in the last hour, i managed to catch 7. after a change in my bait to the "earthworm"
With the catch of the day...

proudily presenting the tiger prawns..

There was a lady who kindly gave us some prawns that she caught.. (think she's workign there de) that's y we eventually got 24 prawns to eat.. wohoo..

BBQ prawns on the spot.. Jump jump jump.. jump for ur lifes..

Well.. It was fun, full of thrill and excitement. but it's a relatively expensive recreation. $13 an hour, or $39 for 4hrs. once a while still okay lar..
Went to marina barrage there for some sort of picnic, for lynal's farewell. instead of the rooftop, we went to the marina bridge... Bought quite a lot of food, but the quality of it is not bad.. with pineapple fried rice, pizza, satay, potato salad, JCO donuts, "zi bao ji", beancurd tarts, bread. damn a lot of carbo lar.. but it's nice.. =D

Ppl are weird..
Things they like to do, no need reason to say no, there's always a reason why should do it..
Things they don't like to do, no need reason to say yes, there's always a reason to say why should not.
What are the things that we really want?
We can SAY one thing, but DO another.
We THINK we should do this way, but we do otherwise.
A phrase i saw recently
"Sometimes I give myself admirable advice, but I am incapable of taking it. "
Are you one that can't take it ?

Finished my first CA of the sem.. Pharmaco CA 1. 40mins, 22qns, with 4 parts of true/false. negative marking, max marks of 88 marks.. It's a bit er xin... I don't think i did well. made some stupid mistakes.. sigh... my results just doesnt' reflect what I've studied..
Anyway, it's already week 6 le.. can u believe it.. next week is mid-sem break.. how fast can it be..
half the sem has just zoomed past... it's quite amazing.. arhz... it's passing by way too fast... KONG BU arh..
I've been trying to catch up with my training.. the schedule is tight, and honestly, sometimes the body is tired, u just don't feel like changing out and move out of the house.. especially, when each training min time is 1hr.. plus warm-up, cool down, rest, it's a good 2 hrs..
Just a moment ago, I did a 12km run and I clocked a PB, 1:00:44 Woohoo.. perhaps it's not exactly 12km, but i've been running the same route for yrs... and my previous PB was 1:01:25 . It's quite an improvement.. =) I didn't had the intent to hit a PB, but at the turning point, i was clocking a good time, 00:30:24. I knew there is a chance to do a nice timing.. so i pushed on, and tried to maintain the pace.. came back with a timing i'm happy with.. and I feel good.. Not that tiring... =D
The dual training that i've been doing, ( swim then run ), I feel has helped me quite significantly. The stress on the heart and lungs to transit and push on.. this is the 3rd week of training.. level of intensity is getting higher.. hopefully I'll still be able to stick with it..

I feel broke.. very broke.. especially now that i've dropped the 2nd kid within 2 weeks, plus spending 1.3k within the same 2 week as well. I'm really feeling the pinch. real bad.. Going thru a dry season, havent' been thru one for the past 2.5yrs le.. sighz.. how am i still going to go for my Grad trip next May? How am i suppose to be my sis waterboy when she takes her wedding shots in glascow and eddinberg ? How am i suppose to survive on $32o a month ?
I really wonder..
The only good thing is that I've more time for my training, and studies.. dont' know is good or bad...

Kent ridge park.. ( pitcher plant )
Went to Kent Ridge park today, as part of the module for Ecology. This prac was mainly on spotting measuring pitcher plants present in the secondary forest. ( Adinandra belukar ) . On such a hot day, 31 degrees, it's a bit siao.. but still something different from the lectures. Talking abt pitcher plant, I guess most ppl would say that it's quite unique and hard to find.. But I would actually disagree, cos it's more about where to find. It's practically everywhere along kent ridge park. Knowing the facts and how pitcher plant grows, it makes it easier to spot and identify possible locations.
3 species of pitcher plant can be found on our soil. Namely,
Raffles' pitcher plant, Nepenthes rafflesiana

A big and colour pitcher plant, that can have vases that grows up to 30cm long.
Slender pitcher plant, ( Nepenthes gracilis)

Most abundant species ..
narrow-lidded pitcher plant, ( Nepenthes ampullaria )

Notice that it grows in cluster, it's the least common.

Bought my First RoadBike !!!
Woo hoo.. I'm finally an owner of a roadbike.. Though it's an entry level one, Polygon Helios 300, I'm still happy to have one. The feel of a roadbike is just so different from a Mountain bike (MTB) and I'm sure it'll go a long way in my route to an Iron Man. Now I can properly train in this bike, but i still need some conditioning to this new setup.

Got this bike from Roadalink, the franchise along Upp Thomson road. Recommended by Ben, went down there to take a look. a 10% off makes a lot of diff on a price of $920. So in the end, got the bike at $828. A decent price to pay for a roadbike.. Plus the shape and design.. It's nice.. =) Thanks for accompanying me to buy the bike today.. Thanks bro. Owe u one.

Short Tribute to my Handy Hybrid Hasa Comp 3.0
I've just sold my Bicycle.. My modified Hasa Comp 3.0 Hybrid. It's sad... really.. I've developed feelings for the bike that has brought me to so many places that I've not even gone by car.. Still remember the first road trip I had was from Tampines to Boonlay, where I did my own training in camp. Figuring out and playing around between roads and off-roads, I finally settled for slicks and changed it to a hybrid, cos of my fondness in speed. It has been with me for the past 5yrs and indeed it has served me well. Now, you have a new owner.. ( Karen's Bf ) hope you'll come in just as handy.
After 5 good yrs, buying the bike at a cost of $350, upgrading and maintenance, totalling $800. Now sold it at $380, quite a decent price le ba.. depreciation of $100 in a yr..
I made the tough decision to sell it, cos of the Aviva 70.3. And I really do hope that this decision is something worth it. To train and go for an Ironman, a good roadbike will definitely be very helpful. Now looking at the polygon 300. Going at $830. Will be going down on Sunday to take a look.
The last few mins with my Beloved Hybrid.. Farewell my fren.. ( last photo too.. Don't know how to be able to smile in this situation )
