So we ran away for the weekend. We ran all the way to Branson. We had never been to Branson. So it was a new adventure for us.
We ran away with 3 other couples. Four couples+friendship+"John Hannigan special" rooms+NO KIDS= a great time.
What were we doing? We went here:
Right now I am a bit swamped with MOPS. So I will post more later!

Randomness
It has been busy! I can't keep track of everything. This is Adam's spring break! IT has been ice to have him around in the evenings but at the same time I had/have a meeting each night that he is typically gone.
We did go on a date on Monday! It was nice out. A few degrees warmer and a lack of snow would have made it perfect to go on a motorcycle ride. Oh how I miss those. Especially the relaxing rides in the country. Guess it will be a while before I get to enjoy that again.
On our date we ate at Pei Wei. We split the Pad Thai. Yummy! We then pre shopped for Naomi's Birthday. Her "big gift" from us will be a fish. Probably a Betta I had a few in collage. They did not last long. I hope I can keep her fish alive longer than I kept mine. Guess I should start reading up on them again.
Oh...
And I have been roped into a running program. It is called Couch to 5K Running plan. I guess there is a 5K at the end of may we are all going to run in. So far I am on Week 1, day 2.
Tonight we head up to Basehor for church. Wednesdays are all ways long now.

Goin' Fishin' Cake
Yep! Here is another cake. My friends have been keeping me busy! I have decided to go with this venture that they have started for me! Although to keep my cake decorating an enjoyable hobby I have decided to limit my decorating to 2 cake events a month. Prefreably for the weekend. Also I am limiting it to Birthday cakes. I excited to see what will become of this venture.

on the mend!
So I think we are finally on the mend. I will be trying Naomi on milk again this afternoon. My finger is starting to feel a bit more normal. Although I am in the process of loosing the nail and it is still senstive to bumps. But I can actulally use it with out cringing or tearing up.
We are gearing up for a busy spring. Next weekend we have a first Birthday to attend. (I will also be making the cakes.) Soon after that Adam and I will be running away to Branson with a bunch of friends for a marriage retreat. We have Easter. Then Naomi's Birthday! And that is just the next month.
For the summer I have 3 graduations, a possible wedding, a trip to TX, publicizing and planing MOPS and VBS. And that is only what I can think of off the top of my head. YIKES!
I hope I can keep track of everything. Now that we are juggling school, youth, church, MOPS, family, and friends we are getting busy!

As promised...
We have been sick at our home. I watched and waited as it went through all of our friend's households. At the fist mention of the flu. I finally put the mattress protector on Naomi's bed. It last week it hit every one. Naomi and I had it mostly at night and made for a rough time. By the weekend i thought we were all clear. Then On Sunday Naomi got sick again. We thought it was a "fluke." But then she spent Monday and Tuesday sick. We took her to the doctor on Wednesday. She said she should get better in the next 24 hours. Well last night we were at a friend's house and she got sick again. YUCK! I think her tummy was not quite ready for milk last night. And this morning I woke up sick again. So break out the Clorox wipes and Lysol again. But I had promised some of Naomi's silly stories...
So here is one:
About a week after starting Naomi in her big girl bed we started letting her sleep in it at night. So one night Adam get's home from class. We then hear a large "Thump" from Naomi's room. We listened to see if she would cry because it sounded like a pretty hard fall.
No cry was heard.
We then head upstairs to check on her and get her back in to bed. We figured she must have slept through the fall.
We peek into her room in time to see her crawling back in to bed. But she only get's her top half in the bed. As I reach the bed to help her. I realize that Naomi was asleep. She had sleep crawled back in to bed! Crazy girl!

March Forth
NOTE: I had meant to post this yesterday. But it take me a bit longer to type these days. So bare with me. Until my finger heals I will probably post pictures for thee most part. But I do have a few fun stories to share about Naomi coming soon. So stay tuned!
Well, it is March Forth again. This day has some significance to me. It was a year ago yesterday that we were not selected for Amara. It was the first child we were considered for. I knew the chances were slim. There are very few who are chosen the first time.
And now a year later, Naomi can wear the shirt that my mom bought for Amara. And each time I put it on her I can't help but think of her "almost" sister. So I pray for her. I have chosen a verse for her and the other child we were not selected for.
Each time I start moping over the adoption process I bring this verse to mind. It brings me a lot of peace in knowing His understanding is infinite. It also carries the reminder of how powerful God is. Nothing is impossible with Him.
So now we continue to wait for child number two. We do not know when or how this child will be added to our family. But God does. I thank Him that he has a perfect plan for our family. Until then I get to dote on our first answered prayer.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9.

Great is our Lord, and mighty in power;
His understanding is infinite.
His understanding is infinite.
Psalm 147:5.
