The Excessive Christmas Light Contest

We were listening to our local radio station one night in the car. They were disagreeing with an editorial written in the local paper. The article discussed people and their excessive use of Christmas lights. It said that people should be more concerned about conserving energy! So the radio station decided to hold an excessive light contest. I thought I should enter Aaron. So I sent them a link to our lights. Friday I got a call that we won! They said they would call later and have us on the air. I made sure Aaron was home to take the call. He was so proud! He went in the bedroom to talk to them so the kids wouldn't distract him. I left a radio on in the kitchen and Belle heard it. She busted into the bedroom and said "Dad, your on the radio!" It was really funny. I was actually listening to it in the car because there was better reception, and I had Aaron's parents on the phone so they could listen.
Aaron really gets a kick out of looking out the window and seeing people parked in front of our house. So much for conserving energy this month. It puts a smile on our faces, our kids, neighbors, and the strangers that park outside our house. We won a $50 gift certificate to a restaurant. Well worth it. Graduation

Aaron received his MBA on Friday the 14th. Halleluiah!!! We are so darn excited. It has been a long two years, but will be worth it in the future. Both of our parents were here for the graduation on Friday. Then we spent Saturday with Aaron's family celebrating. We had lunch with everyone at PF Chang's. Then we spent the afternoon at his sister Wendy's. That night we all bundled up and went to Temple Square to see the lights. It was a really fun weekend. Not only do I have the most handsome husband ever, but he is just as smart. Congrats Aaron! I Love you.

Reeve's Accident

A couple weeks ago we happened to have the video camera out while Reeve was playing with a plastic double ended kitchen rolling pin. Suddenly he started swinging it and accidentally whacked himself in the head. So Kenzie's brother put it into a quick slow motion movie for us. It's sad but pretty funny.

The Blinking House

One of Aaron's favorite things to do each year is to put up Christmas lights on the house. I mean he LOVES lights. Slowly over the years we have accumulated more and more lights by hitting the after Christmas clearance sales. So we have a fair amount of lights to put up which took a couple Saturdays and some of Aaron's lunch breaks. This year to our great surprise we found a little "something" at Costco that we felt would add some fun to the lights. So for your viewing pleasure we present "The Blinking House".

Don't forget to turn off the music and turn up the volume.

A Morning With The Quiggles

The following all took place before 9:30 am Friday morning.
We finished up breakfast and I decided I would have have some photos downloading while I was cleaning up. I started downloading and the phone rang. I was on the phone with my mom while cleaning the kitchen only a couple minutes. I realized it was too quiet. Reeve was no where in site. I ran to the bedroom. Our computer is in a cabnet with two doors. I forgot to close it when I left the room. He climbed on the chair, rolled the keyboard out, climbed up on top of it, found a pen, and was coloring all over the paper he found. I got him down and had to restart the download. When I realized he was gone again. I ran to the kitchen. I had left the pantry open when I ran to the bedroom. He got in and found the baking cocoa. I arrived just in time to see him eat a handful, gag, and chuck the large can. So I swept and mopped the floor. In a rush to the kitchen I had left the computer door open again. And I found him once again at the computer. I was taking care of that when Belle dashed in my bedroom and said "come now" So I ran back to the kitchen where I found him laying on the kitchen counter top eating some treats he had found. He dumped the bag and went to town. By then all I could do was laugh and get the camera. Then it was bath time, and he was out like a light before 10:00! He wore us both right out. This is a normal day for us, but it doesn't usually all happen quite so fast.

Bellebo Baggins

Heath, Kenzie's brother, put together some video clips of Belle from the past couple of years. Years ago he nicknamed her Bellebo Baggins the Hobbit and it stuck. So he put some fun music to the video clips. Hope you enjoy the show!

PS You might want to pause the background music at the bottom of the blog.

Riding Horses

We took Belle and Reeve to ride horses on Friday night. We went with a guy from Aaron's work and his family. Belle love's horses and thought she was so big. The guy was leading her around at first, and then I heard her tell him "ok you can go over there now, I can do it."
We were indoors so there is a glare with the dust in the air and the lights.

Kauai Trip

We went to Kauai with Aaron's parents to celebrate his graduation. We had a really great time. We didn't waste a minute. Aaron ran a tight schedule! We did a lot of different things. I was banned from a bunch of activities on the island because of being pregnant. (someone should have banned me from wearing a swim suit!) We still had so many fun things to do like.....Hiking to a bunch of different waterfalls, lots of snorkeling, helicopter tour, luau, Aaron and Richard surfed and golfed together. We also ate, ate, and ate. We had the best time.
