Merry Christmas to All!

Merry Christmas from our three little monkeys!
We really had a wonderful Christmas! It started out with a wonderful party on Christmas Eve at my cousin Lances house. This is the first year since the beginning of time that it hasn't been at my grandparents. Lance and Amy did a wonderful job hosting and I know Grandma and Grandpa would have been proud!
We were lucky to have Grandma, Papa, and Uncle Heath stay the night. We had such a fun time together on Christmas.

This is Christmas morning. The kids didn't wake up until 7:30! This is them awaiting the big moment!
Too much fun! I love Christmas. The whole month has that special feel. We feel so blessed in every way. Especially to have these three little ones to celebrate the birth of our Saviour with.

The night after Christmas we went to "Fantasy at The Bay." These are the lights at Willard Bay. If you haven't ever gone, I highly recommend it! If you can stand the cold enough you can go on a wagon ride. The kids loved it.

12 Days of Quiggle Christmas

For those of you who read the previous post titled "A Week In Review," I decided to add to it and turn it into the 12 days of Quiggle Christmas. Many messes have happened since then. That post is the first 6 days, now prepare yourselves for 6-12.

#7- We left a family Christmas party with Reeve's head looking like this. He had pen all over himself. He blamed it on Papa. Sometimes I don't know whether to believe Papa, or Reeve. :)

#8- I have a kid friendly tree. I don't mind the kids playing with the ornaments. However, Barnes got a little carried away. He somehow managed to pull the tree over.

#9- We were sitting in the car waiting for Aaron while he was in the store. I hear a ripping sound and I turned around and saw that Reeve had done this to his jeans. The jeans were pretty worn and each knee had a small hole in it. He was board and ripped away. Then he started crying and said "my jeans are broken, I need to change." I used the jeans as a white elephant gift at a Christmas party.

#10- Apparently Reeve got a hold of the camera, and we have some dandy shots.

#11- Today Barnes dumped Pop Rocks in the toilet, no biggie but I was the one that had to fish the package out of the toilet. I'm sure he had a great time listening to the Pop Rocks! I wonder if he had as much fun today when he found Belle's pencils and drew all over her bed, wall, and clothes hamper?

#12- The grand daddy of all days! While I was getting ready for the day the boys showed themselves a grand time. They opened up 6 boxes of instant oatmeal and dumped them in every room in the basement.

This mess took me two hours to clean up. No I did not have them help me. My kids love the vacuum, but they hate to sit still. So they got to sit against the wall and watch me clean the whole thing up....they didn't enjoy it.
So there you have it. The twelve days of Quiggle Christmas. I wonder what 2010 will bring?

Jesus & Spiderman

Today I was talking with Reeve. We were talking about Jesus and how Christmas is his birthday. He told me that he thinks Jesus wants a spiderman cake. "thpidaman" in his little lisp. So cute. So I got thinking.....It wouldn't be such a bad idea to have a birthday cake for Jesus. I don't think I would really do a "thpidaman" cake, but just a little something to remind the kids what we are doing. I just want them to get it. You know what I mean?? So in addition to reading the scripture story and other books and songs, one thing they understand is celebrating birthdays. Anyway, I'll see what I come up with.

A Week In Review

I told Aaron the other day "If I keel over today from exaustion, put on my headstone that the boys killed her." Then after the following happened today I decided to share some recent happenings with the rest of you. If I just told you about them, you would think I was exaggerating, but no, I have proof. Today.........

I'm almost embarrassed to say that this happened while I was in the shower, but it did. How many posts can one gal have that happened while showering?
I made the mistake of leaving my makeup bag on my bed. Barnes destroyed it in about two minutes. Notice he even managed to put eye shadow on.

It was such a mess I had to vacuum the quilt before I could take it off the bed!

It got a little quiet in the house. I snuck up on the boys and found them eating the cookies in a hidden corner.

Ah ha, caught ya! At least they were sharing, that's a plus right?

Barnes dumped a big can of cocoa on himself and all over the kitchen floor. I love the reaction the kids have when they find out cocoa doesn't taste so great. But I hate cleaning it off the floor. It always needs mopped. Can someone get the boy a tissue please.

Barnes got into the fridge and dropped this rice vinegar bottle and broke it. The house smelt really strong with vinegar, but the floor was sure clean!
Within a few days of that he climbed up on the counter and got two mason jars and threw them onto the tile and shattered them. I have no pictures of that....I wasn't laughing then.

Barnes got a hold of a pen and colored the wall in our room.

He colored on our dresser. He also got a hold of a pen and colored on Belle's door, and a newly painted wall. All of these were separate incidents. Your probably thinking "where was she during all of this?" Well let me tell you "I was cleaning up the previous mess!"

Let me throw one in for Belle while I'm at it. Two days ago she came home from school looking like this. I asked what happened to her pants. She said "They were like that when I left." Oh, really? I could have sworn they were in perfect condition when I pulled them out of her drawer that morning. Ah sheesh.
Last night I had a little eye opener. I was feeling like all I do is clean up messes and that nothing get's accomplished. I feel like that every day. I went to visit a good friend who has recently had some major surgery, and many other isues with it.She has had some scary experiences. It gave me a bit of a new perspective on life. Tis the season for Thanksgiving right? I am thankful to be healthy enough to pick up messes, I am thankful for kids who are healthy eneough to make messes. I am thankful to have a house to clean, and I'm thankful for a husband who helps me with it all, I am thankful that through all the messes we get some great laughs (even laughs over the messes).
And to my friend, thank you for your example and friendship!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Some of you may remember the Twilight movie post from last year. A group of us, including husbands, went to see the movie. We decided to keep the tradition and head to Salt Lake this year (where you can buy your ticket online and no waiting in lines for hours). We made an over nighter out of it. New Moon happened to come out on my birthday. Best birthday ever!!

A little dinner at PF Changs. I highly recommend in this exact order a soda, lettuce wraps, kung pao chicken, great wall of chocolate. I am drooling just thinking about it. Yum.

Me and Tiff drinking out of our souvenir New Moon cups.
And check out the cute cupcake. It was funny because there were two sets of "young teen girls" that sang happy birthday to their friends before the movie. All the sudden everyone around me started singing happy birthday. I turned around and Angie and Cara had smuggled in mini cupcakes, and they even lit the candle. What great friends I have. And the key lime cupcake was to die for! (cute hat also provided by Cara and Angie!)

And to my fantastic husband who goes along with my Twilight obsession. (don't let him fool you, he has read them all) He had these flowers waiting for me at the hotel. I took the photo a few days too late. They were wilting a little. He is always so great to go along with my crazy ideas. He even shopped for two days with zero complaint!

Well, here's to a good time! Thanks for a fun weekend everyone. The countdown has begun for June 30th 2010. Hopefully this sad obsession will keep me feelin young eh?
