Mckinlee At 3 Months

So I am horrible at keeping this up to date, but I will do my best. So Mckinlee is now 3 months 3 weeks old! Crazy eh? She is getting big! She is a lot of fun too! Talking and now she is starting to laugh. It is a lot of fun. She has been able to roll over onto her back from her belly since she was 2 or 3 weeks old, and now she is trying to roll from her back onto her belly. She can get up to either side then she'll just lay there and roll onto her back and then roll up onto the other side and just lay there.

Mckinlee has been sleeping through the night for the last month and a half or so. It has been great. She goes to sleep at like 10 and wake up sometimes not until 7. Then again, there are some mornings where she will wake up at 4 and again at 6... but that is only once in awhile.

I have had to go back to work and have been back for about 2 months. So while I am at the hospital Mckinlee gets to hang out with Grandma Sims. But the good news is is that we got to buy a house!!! It is so nice to finally have a house that is all ours!!!

So, let's see... more of an update with what happened with things with Mckinlee. I started having contractions about 3:45 in the morning on June 15th. When we went into the doctors at like 9 in the morning I was already dialated to a 6. By 11:30 I was at a 9. It was also about that time that the midwife called the doctor that was on call and they decided that we needed to have a c-section. Mckinlee was face-up (ouch! back labor, front labor, and labor that went all the way around!) she was stuck and not budging at all! So we had her by c-section. We didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl so when they got her out, Ben told me that we had a little girl! (Which worked out really well because we had her name from right after we found out we were pregnant and we hadn't really found any boy names that we liked.) He got to go cut her umbilical cord. Come to find out, her umbilical cord was too short for her to come down into my pelvis so that helped her get stuck.

So we stayed in the hospital for 3 nights and got to bring her home- well to our apartment (we didn't get the house until the end of August). 3 weeks later, Ben took me into the ER because I was having a really bad stomach ache. Come to find out, I needed to have my gall bladder out. We went into the ER at 1am and had it out and home by 5pm. Now I am doing great and Mckinlee is amazing!!!

Intro into the Alaskan Sweethearts

Hello everyone. So this is a new thing for us, so forgive us for not knowing what we are doing. But an intro into us... So we met in Alaska, hence the name "Alaska Sweethearts". We met while we were both in Denali working for Princess Cruise Line at their lodge that they have there. I was working at a restaurant (basically a glorified McDonalds) and Ben was a bus driver. We met in June and got married in January. We've been married for a little over a year and we are expecting our first baby, who is due in June. We are living in Laramie, WY. We had our ultrasound yesterday to check the baby and make sure everything is looking good, and it is. We will put the pictures up here when we get a chance so that you can all see the blur that is our baby. We do not know if it is a boy or a girl, we want to be surprised.

Ben is working 2 jobs and going to school. This semester he is only going part-time to school at UW. He is working at the bus garage still working for the school district and then also works at Handel IT as a computer support specialist. Leslie is working at the hospital here in Laramie as a Phlebotomist (aka vampire)
