Biker Babes

Yesterday was Taylor family race day.  Tim has taken up mountain biking this summer and fallen in love.  He has been doing the trails at Kettle Moraine every morning and enjoying his new hobby.  This weekend they sponsored a race there.  Tim entered and they even had a kid race for the rest of our gang.
Here's our champ coming into the finish line.
Tim was coaching Em on the finer points of racing.  Em was psyched.  He was in it to win it.
He ended up finishing first in his age group.  He thought it was so cool.
Max got in on the action too and they were loving the medals they got to take home.
Z went after it in her age group.  She was the most stylish kid there, matching helmet and all.  You know there is never an excuse to skimp on fashion.

Our little champs were very proud of their first race.  We'll be back next year for more.  Go team Taylor!

Smartie-tarty

Ahhh, they grow up so fast.  Next week she'll be starting high school.  She is our smart smart cookie-- very studious.  Don't you think?

School Days

We're back to school!  Today was the first day and the kids were jazzed to get back to class.
I asked them to gather for a picture.  Can you tell who is a bit spazy this morning?
There we go... that's more like it.
This is what 5th grade looks like this year.
This is our 4th grader-- all smiles.
2nd grade is getting ready to cause some trouble.  Can you see it?
This is what 1st grade looks like when you tell him you want to take his picture.
Ask him to take his finger out of his nose...
There we go... first grade is going to get a handful this year.

Tim and I are enjoying a quiet house this morning with no one to entertain.   Ahhhh, life is good.

The Fair

We went to the fair yesterday and the kids were in heaven.
They really really wanted some cotton candy.
They devoured a bag in .02 seconds.
We got to see the butterflies in their habitat.
Breckyn would have stayed there all day.  It was totally her thing.
We had to do the snow cones.
Dad wanted to see all of the tractors.
Zoey found her heaven.  They had chocolate covered strawberries on a stick.  This is her all time favorite thing in the whole world.  She couldn't have been happier.

We did lots of rides, saw the animals and toured the weird art.  It was a day of fun.  Then in the evening Tim took the kids back to watch the tractor pulls.  Yes Cassie, I survived another year of the fair.

Taylor Babes

Yesterday was a little cloudy and according to Cheri, it's the perfect chance to take some good pictures.  I probably should have factored in the kids' moods...  I didn't get much.  I took about 103 pictures and this is all that turned out.  The boys were very set against taking pictures.

I suppose this captured their personalities even if they weren't cooperating.
The Taylor babes in their true form.
