September Snapshots (part 2)

Post bath time puzzle with Mama

Field trip with my big girl

Afternoon snacks on the deck with Mama

Ella insisted that Nagymama be her very first spa customer. Pedicure complete with a fancy glass of ginger ale, leg massage and cranberry red nails.

Wheel of Fortune time

Friends over for dress up and dinner!

truth.

There are lots of great things in this picture.
1. Juliet and her buddy. Seriously, could we have a more perfect dog for our family? He is the best!
2. Just one more perk of having Mama with us, she folds all the laundry before I even notice the basket. She kind of spoils us when she is here!

I bought this onesie for Juliet because to be strong and smart like her Mama (Nagymama) is a great thing!

I can't get enough of these days together...

Sometimes chilly Saturday mornings call for chocolate chip cookies, cozy blankets and a movie.

Joe and his two buddies

Sisters are at school, so it's finally Juliet's turn to play on Nagymama's iPad.

That's the proud smile of the winner of the library summer bookmark contest. Abby worked so seriously on her entry this summer. So...when she got the phone call that her design was chosen, it was extra exciting! Ella thinks it's "amazing that her big sister is famous before she even gets to college"!

Juliet loves to read books.

September Snapshots: soccer, a hurricane and Nagymama

The month of September was full, as we adjusted to our new school schedules and activities. Many afternoon car rides looked like this. It isn't easy going from a summer schedule to a school schedule.

Ella started her first season of soccer and LOVED it.

She loved learning and making new friends!

Quote of the morning: Daddy, now I really think I get what Troy means when he says to "getcha head in the game"! (High School Musical)

Just another reason half day Kindergarten is my favorite...

We spent days praying non stop for our home away from home and Mama and my dad as they rode out the impending storm. We were so thankful that Mama wasn't alone as Hurricane Irma barreled right toward her home, but that also meant two big pieces of my heart were in the path of danger. So, we waited and trusted in the One who knows and cares, the God who can quiet any storm. We prayed for protection and God mercifully spared them of any damage. While most of Florida lost power, they only lost power for a few minutes. It was pretty amazing.

Then, after all that stress, Mama decided to take a vacation and come spend some time with us! To say we were excited about the unplanned visit is an understatement.

Uncle Cory!

She's here! She's here!

They hug almost daily on FaceTime, so it didn't take long for Juliet to take advantage of the real thing!

School pickup is way more fun when Mama is riding shotgun!

These days 😍

Juliet turns 2!

Happy happy 2nd birthday to our sweet Julie B! You are the sweetest and spunkiest little lovebug, who keeps us on our toes every day and make us laugh while doing it. You have been our first child to try to jump out of shopping carts, climb onto the dining room table, throw a temper tantrum while laying on the floor in Target (in desperation I bribed you with fruit snacks) and try to stick your finger in the electrical socket. You love to snuggle (specifically "ON COUCH") and take every opportunity to get me there. When I sit down, you push me back to make sure I know you don't ever want me to get up. We joke that you never stop moving, but recently you have started sitting for longer periods as you have discovered a new love of books and puzzles. It's so much fun to watch you learn and grow. You have so many words and LOVE to talk as much as your sisters do. You have officially gotten to the age where you refuse to be left out and want to be a part of everything your sisters are doing. Watching the three of you play together is the best!

On the morning of your birthday, it was the sweetest to see your reaction to the gifts and special Daniel Tiger balloon waiting especially for you! I think your birthdays must be extra special because you have two big sisters by your side cheering you on the whole time. This year, Nagymama was here to celebrate with us too. We had birthday pancakes with whipped cream and sprinkles. Then, you opened all your Daniel Tiger gifts!

Favorite toys/activities: reading books, doing puzzles, taking Ollie for a walk on the "EESH" (leash), putting on your "BOOTS" to go in the "CAR", singing songs and dancing, coloring

Favorite foods:  For breakfast, you love eggs, pancakes, french toast, all the fruit, cereal or cream cheese toast. You'll take cheese, yogurt and fruit any time of day. The only veggie I can get you to eat is tomatoes (which isn't even a veggie) or the spinach that I occasionally sneak into a shake. You still love your daddy's shakes and request one every morning. As for other meals, you tend to love all the kid friendly things like pizza, chicken tenders and pasta. The most important thing to you during a meal is that there is an assortment of condiments on your plate. You would only eat ranch, ketchup and honey mustard for dinner if I let you. You are still a pretty picky eater, but you might just be turning a corner. The other day you actually ate all of the turkey I put on your plate for lunch. Baby steps! 😉

Favorite songs: You always ask for music when we get into the car. Your favorite songs are usually whatever I have on repeat because of dances I'm working on and whatever album your sisters are loving. You love the Liv and Maddie soundtrack, It's Christmas by Mandisa and Toby Mac's Little Drummer Boy. Another favorite is the Kidz Bop version of 24K magic. The lyrics say, "Put your pinky rings up to the moon. What you trying to do?" You shout the word "moon" every time and then put your hands and shoulders in the "I don't know" position during the "what you trying to do?" part.

Just recently you have started passionately singing whenever a song is on.

Favorite TV show: Daniel Tiger and Elmo, but when the Netflix screen is up you always point to your sisters' favorite show (Liv and Maddie) and beg us to put it on. I think it's because you love dancing to the theme song.

Some of our favorite things you say:
"Uh-ooooooooo"
"Oooooooh cooool!"
"Wow!"
You call me "Meemee" and daddy "Deedee". You love calling people by their names and are pretty good at it. I love that you call Uncle Cory, "Cackee" and Johnny, "NahNah".
"Me", "Mine" and "No" are on repeat around here.
Your word explosion is happening and you are talking up a storm! You have something new to say everyday.

Your joy and belly laughs are contagious!

You bonded with Nagymama in new ways during this visit. You two are the sweetest together!

I love being your mommy, sweet girl!

You insisted on taking Ollie on walk and holding the leash all by yourself. Birthday girl wishes!

Your excitement when opening Aunt Cyncy's gift was priceless! Then, you tried to wear your brand new pink cowgirl boots to bed. 🙂

That weekend, Grammy and G-Diddy came to visit for birthday dinner. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to head downtown to walk along the river.

It was a great day celebrating you!
