Daddy Dear! Today is my sweet father's birthday. A happy/sad day. Happy because this marks the ever so special day that my handsome father entered the world. Sad because he isn't here to celebrate with us.(in spirit though) But for one of the most important men in my life, besides my husband of course, I thought I would write him a letter. So dad I know you can read this cause they have blogs in heaven right?
My dearest daddy,
I miss you so much! So much sometimes it hurts. Especially now that I have become a mother. I want you to be here to share in the upbringing of my sweet baby. He has your cute chubby hands. I kiss them everyday. I love that he got them from you. We think he is going to be a good football player, just like his papa!! I wish you were here to make him laugh and teach him your cool tricks. I hope and pray that Easton one day becomes a father like his father and his papa. Sheldon told me that if his children remember one thing about him, it will be how much he loves their mother. I told him that's what we remember most about you!! You loved our sweet beautiful mother with all you had! Of course how could you not she is the most beautiful amazing woman there ever was! I know that you are soaking up the precious time you have with our sweet little ones in heaven. Telling them all about our awesome family! Getting them ready to live in this crazy world. The world just isn't the same without Johnny Crumbum. You were so much fun. But I thank my father in heaven everyday that I grew up with the best dad there ever was. Someone that all dads should try to be more like. I knew I was loved, and you even told me everyday. I see more of you in myself everyday. I love that. I love that I am becoming more like you! Today is your special day. If you were here we would make your favorite cake, sing the great birthday song you ever heard. You would defiantly get lots of birthday hugs and kisses, and of course dance around the kitchen showing off the moves we get from you! So in honor of your birthday dad, we will eat some yummy dinner drink some yummy hot chocolate, reminisce on the things we love most about you and we can't forget, dance around the kitchen. We miss you and hope we are making you proud! We owe what we are today, to you! I can't wait for the day we are reunited, I picture us running to embrace each other and you kissing my forehead. That thought gets me through the hard times. How lucky are we to be part of the gospel and have the knowledge that we WILL see each other again! I love you dad! To the sky and back infinity!!!
Love,
Your birdie

Go Devils!!
Sheldon is a huge ASU fan. When I say huge I mean huge!! (And you will see how huge later in my story.) He grew up going to all the football and basketball games even though they basically really weren't too good. hahaha sorry but they weren't. That didn't matter to the Heywood boys, they were true fans through thick or thin. So naturally he wants his boys to be big fans too. When we first found out our bundle of joy would be a boy all he could talk about, is how he couldn't wait to take him to ASU games. So a few weeks ago our little family went to our first ASU basketball game. Chubs was very smiley and would laugh every time I would yell "GO DEVILS". Sheldon said that Easton was so happy because he knew he was "in the promised land." Promised land? I laughed, I wouldn't go as far to say that ASU is the promised land. Isn't ASU one of the top party schools in the country? But like I said Sheldon is a HUGE fan. Well turns out that Easton didn't think he was in the promised land, he barely lasted the first half. So we left early but not without basically everyone there stopping to take a look at our little Devils fan in training.
What a proud father.
