Guess who's six?
I can hardly believe it! I'm sure I say that every year, but every year it is as true as the last.
Naomi has been SO.SO.SO excited to turn six. For the last two months we have had daily conversations about what she wants for her birthday, how tall she will be on her birthday, what she can do on her birthday, whether or not she will go to school on her birthday, what kind of cake she will eat for her birthday, and on and on... Excited doesn't even approach describing how Naomi has been feeling!!! As soon as she woke up she informed me that for her birthday breakfast she would like french toast with syrup, milk, grapes and strawberries. Her wish was my command!
She could barely contain herself when she saw her pile of gifts :)
I told Naomi we would make whatever she wanted for her birthday dinner. She chose calamari (her favorite), pork lettuce wraps, stir fried morning glory and rice. My little Hong Kong Honey!
Daddy came home early for the festivities!
Ginger graciously offered to pass the presents to Sissy.
Goosey rarely allows a photo without her three fingered "peace" sign these days.
So excited to be ripping into wrapping!
Every year I make a photo book of each of the girls' birthdays. I just finished Ginger's books so we let her open them and peek through to keep her occupied. It worked! She loved the birthday books.

She'll be spending this stateside soon!
Naomi's number one birthday wish this year was a remote controlled car, as evidenced by this letter I found stuffed in my mailbox a week before her birthday. Just a side note: Naomi never ever draws a picture of herself without drawing our dog Pippin by her side. It is the sweetest thing.
I can't help but think that in ten years she'll be asking for a real car. (yikes) She told me she wanted a silver car because silver cars were good for girls. I've gotta say, I enjoyed car shopping!
After presents we had a little chocolate cake Naomi had picked out from the bakery.
Making a wish!
Naomi was thrilled to celebrate with some friends on Sunday as well :)
This was the first year she asked me to make a cake that wasn't chocolate!!! She requested a pink strawberry cake with cream cheese filling and whipped cream frosting with an "N" in sprinkles on the top. These were very specific instructions! It turned out to be quite tasty, if I do say so myself!
I'm happy to say that her birthday lived up to her expectations {HUGE sigh of relief here}!!!
We love you so much Naomi! Happy birthday to you!
