Alva Luck




For those of you who don't know, Matt and I don't have the best luck when traveling. On our honeymoon we got stuck in a 4 1/2 hour traffic jam. Well, let's just say that was nothing compared to our trip to Utah! We hit bad weather only 2 hours out of Chicago and didn't see sunshine until we got here. It took us 15 more hours than expected. Needless to say, we were so glad to get here! We actually counted 19 semi's and 74 cars off the road in just the states of Iowa and part of Nebraska. Here are a few pictures of the semi's we saw.

Ice Storm







The first day we were only able to go a few hours before they actually closed the freeway because of the ice storm. The routed us to a back road and there was like an inch of ice on the road and everyone was sliding everywhere. We would be at a complete stop and still slide. This is a picture of a semi that kept sliding across the road. He even tried to get out and he couldn't walk on the ice, he was sliding along the road in his boots. Luckily we made it back to the freeway and decided to stop for the night, but no one had power so we stayed in a hotel room with no power and only a couple candles. It was an adventure!

Joy's 30th and Shower




Joy, my neighbor here in Chicago had a big bash for her 30th birthday. She and Brennon and I also drove all the way to Alabama to go to her baby shower. We had a blast on the girls weekend although it wore us all out!

Life with 2 kids




Katelynn is almost 3 years old! Her new phrase is "Oh my Dear!" She says it all the time and it is so cute. I have no idea where she picked it up. She asks to have Brennon lay on her bed, so here she was laying with him and holding his hand while watching one of her movies.

Katelynn loves being Big Sister











Katelynn is so in love with Brennon. She smothers him with kisses every day and sometimes I catch her checking on him and asking him "Are you OK, Brennon? Are you hungry? It's OK"

Welcome Baby Brennon











Brennon joined our family only 2 months ago. He is already growing too fast. He rolled over for Kristy 2 times yesterday and I missed it! He is also starting to smile and watch us. The picture in blue I took after thinking he looked like a smurf ;) I forgot how fun babies are!
