Favorite stop on Cruise - Guatemala

While surfing the internet one day about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, I found a great deal on a cruise that left out of New Orleans. I called ROn at work, somehow managed to get the trip approve by the "loan officer" and two weeks later we were all headed on a big old ship. We stopped at Costa May, Mexico, Belize, Guatelamala, then Cozumel. By far, we enjoyed the day in Guatemala the most.

Oh yeah, that baby in the picture is drinkikng COKE in her bottle!

Yes, I did forget that I had a blog

Hello, it has been a million years since I have posted anything! For the handful of people who even check this thing - you already know that we are in Louisiana now. FInally in a real house and getting used to our new place. This has been the biggest culture shock yet. Sure are in the middle of nowhere with very limited options without having to drive 5 hours. One good thing we have discovered is our love for crawlfish! And, a huge breakthrough has occurred and Montessori School is happening next year for all the Havniear's (minus Ron). Annie will be teaching and all the kiddos will be students at the nearest MOntessori - 60 miles away (but its worth it). In the meantime, I am just going to upload some of our latest pictures.

We had a great visit with Uncle Jeff and Aunt Carrie last week. We all loved the day trip up to Lake Cushman despite the fact that it took forever to get through the main gate to pay. The computer's were down so it took extra long for each car...or let me put it the way the really young park ranger guy descibed why it was taking so long...."the computer is smoking crack so it is a little slow."
It was Gracie's first nature walk and she seemed to like it. Most people on the trail did triple takes as we walked by with the obviously very new baby. Uncle Jeff somehow ended up on Luke duty most of the day. Ty liked to be the leader of the pack checking out the trail to make sure it was safe. Carrie was a real trooper for being pregnant. Not one complaint from her! Luke figured out pretty quickly to stay nearby to her cause she had the snacks!

Heard and Seen Around....

"Luke why is the screen to your window knocked out and most importantly, why are you on the roof?" "Oh, I was just sitting outside on the roof so I could read a book."

Cody on a river rafting trip: "Look at that bald eagle, he is really, really bald."

Ty: "Dad, can you help me build a trap around my chair? That way Luke won't be able to steal my food from my plate anymore."

Luke asking what the big jet with a pointy front at the Air Force post was and Ty replying that it "was a plane with a big needle so that the pilot could poke the aliens that come to earth from outer space."

Cody coming home with a certificate of achievement for reading over 1000 hours at home for the Reading challenge at his school. (Cody was first in his class to be done, three weeks before anyone else!) Not knowing anything about it, we asked him who kept track of the hours. He replied, " Oh I kept track myself with my watch and turned them into my teacher on my own.

Ty to Luke when Luke tried to take a shortcut through the bushes on the way to the hospital - "Luke, get out of that bush, their are rattle snakes in their!

Cody's prompt response when asked if he wanted to sign up for National No TV Week..."Why would I want to do that? No way!" (We then decided it was best if we did support no TV week!)

Cody when seeing Annie pump milk for Grace, "Hey do you have any chocolate milk in their?"

Ty to Luke when picking up the milk out of the milk box (His weekly Chore), "The milkman brings us milk here Luke, but mama is Grace's milk cow"

When Ty was visiting mama in the hospital he overheard the nurse speaking to her roomate who had just delivered her first baby. The nurse asked her how her pain was down low? and Ty replied on the other side of the curtain, "Down low, your too slow!" (Like when he is playing high five)

Cody on the elevator in the hospital (which was full of people) says "Hmmm, this tickles my "wiener" the same way that it does when we take off in an airplane."

Cody to Ron after returning from visiting his mom and new sister at the hospital says "I cannot wait until I have a baby so that I can get french fries delievered to my room just like Mama did."

Cody: "I am a 3x big brother, Ty is a 2x big brother, and Luke is just a 1x big brother."

Ty to Cody: "Daddy shaves his beard on his face but Mama's beard grows on her legs."

Ty to Cody: "Hurry up and get me the fly smacker quick. I need to kill this fly!"

Ty: "My shoes keep pulling off my socks."

Cody (who just heard the song Born in the USA by Bruce Springstein) Got out of the car in the hospital parking lot and began chanting at full volume, with loads of enthusiasm and arms raised in the air "I was born in the USA!" (Several strangers gave him a thumbs up and a big smile)

Seen in our Kitchen full of guests: Ty bringing a beer to Mr. Eric within one minute of him coming into the house, then Luke getting out a beer and giving it to his wife Melissa. Then, Ty getting out a beer for himself and opening it with a bottle opener and Luke grabbing one for himself and bringing it to the table! What great Irishmen they will be....! (They both had full intentions of drinking them and our guests laughed hysterically as to why our 4 year old and 1 year old had no qualms about trying to drink a beer!)

Doctor to Annie in delivery room: "Go ahead and push, it will ease the contraction.... Whoa Wait!!! I am not ready to catch the baby!!!!"

Luke walking up stairs and shooting himself in the face with his pop gun.

Cody's weapons cache hanging down from his bunk bed in a bucket. He has toy knives, water guns and a sling shot stored in there just in case. When Ron asked if Cody and Ty wanted to go to the store with him, Cody responded with, "Ty lets get some weapons just in case"

Ty asking Cody what he has been doing out in the garage... Cody, "Ah, nothing really. Just talking to myself."

Abe (the boy's best friend) to Ty while they were riding bikes: "Ty, let me see you ride your bike like a high speed internet."

Ty on the beach "I found a clam shell and his face is still inside!"

Cody to Luke: "Luke, get your big butt over here and sit with your big brother Cody!"

Cody: "Why is Gracie crying?" Ty, "Because she doesn't like the smell of dinner."

Ty: "Mom, go put Luke's diaper underneath Cody's pillow! It will be so funny!"

Ron was talking to an "big man" who was looking at the house which is for sale next door. Ty says right in front of them "Daddy, is that man going to have his baby soon!" (Which is worse, the fact that he thinks men can have babies or that he insulted the man's size?)

Ty was crying because Cody kicked him in the head. When we asked Cody why he kicked him in the head the response from Cody was "Well, Ty's head didn't move out of the way of my foot in time."

Ty at the Dollar store deciding what to get his Dad for his birthday--"I know, Daddy always says that there is nothing to eat! Let's get him a can of corn!"

Annie's friend, Amanda sewed up some pants that had a hole in them for her and Cody says, "Mom, you need to take all of Daddy's clothes to Ms. Amanda cause all his stuff has holes in it."

Mom to Cody and Ty-"Well, I guess Daddy is tied up at work so he will not be home to eat breakfast with us." Ty, with a very serious face on says, "Mama, will the bad guys who tied Daddy up hurt him?"
