Norah's 1st Birthday!

On Norah's first birthday we had a virtual birthday party where all of our family was able to join in by video! We loved being able to include our family and we now have a video of the entire party recorded (we've already gone back and watched it). We also had some friends over to celebrate in person with us. Everyone was so sweet and brought such fun gifts. It was a fun day of celebrating!

Mike and I had so much fun taking these pictures of her on her birthday! She LOVED the balloons! There are a ton of pictures but I love the story they tell!

She was in balloon heaven!
I love her little foot hanging out of the crib

I was so nervous making a 3 layer cake from scratch for the first time...but it turned out delicious. Now to work on my frosting technique!

One Year Old!

Norah Ann turned ONE on February 7! We sure love her and loved celebrating her special day. She is a determined and busy little girl, she knows exactly what she wants and will reach out for things she wants (or throw a fit if she doesn't get it). She likes to pretend she will come to you then turn away and bury her head back in your shoulder. She is our love and joy! Her first year was one of my favorite years EVER!

Here are her 12 month stats:
Weight: 18lb 4 oz. (25%)
Height: 29.5" (61%)
Head: 43.7cm (18%)

She LOVES books, doggies, music, being chased around the house, and balls (balloons). She can clap, wave, give high fives, sing, dance with the music, walk with her walker, walk along furniture, pretend talk on the phone (says hello), and throw a ball. She will point to her head and belly button when you ask her where they are. She also knows what her hairbrush is and loves to "brush" her hair. She also "washes" lots of things when you give her a towel or washcloth, she likes to "help" mom with the laundry. She also loves jewelry, clothes, shoes, and cars...uh oh.

She loves to look out the window to see the dogs in the dog park outside, she can spot a dog from a mile away! Its been such a cold and snowy winter...we have all been anxious to leave the house and she gets excited when she knows we're going out. She is beginning to really understand when we tell her something...we say bath and she will crawl to the bathroom. I say Daddy and she goes looking for him.

She says "Mama" and "Dada" but were not sure which one was first. We are also trying to teach her a few words in sign language, so far she knows what they mean but has yet to use them.

She has 0 teeth and loves noodles, strawberries, yogurt and milk. She could be weaned any day...but I'm not ready to give it up yet. I'm sure that will change when she gets her first tooth. Its been a strange kind of freedom for me not being so needed to constantly feed her.

We love you Norah Ann!
