Toto, We're not in Rexburg anymore!
OK, So I have to share this rather disturbing story with everyone. So Saturday night after Brennen got home from work we decided to go shopping for a little bit ( I kept begging him to go shopping with me!). So we went to Ross before it closed and then headed over to Target. As we were walking out of the store I noticed that the guy in front of us had a gun on his belt. I was really taken back and couldn't believe that he just had a gun flashing to everyone in the world. After he was far enough away from us I looked at Bren and we both just had this look of unbelief. I was totally disturbed by this and couldn't say anything for like 5 minutes I just sat there.
As I was sitting there thinking I thought about when I have kids how I don't want them to be in a world like we are right now. So I thought about living in Rexburg, and how you would never see that there.....ok you might see a Redneck with his riffle in his truck...but its a little different than a hand gun on an 18 year old. I have always thought that I want my children to grow up in "the city", not around a bunch of Mormon's. I loved growing up in CA, and have always thought I want the same experience for my children (not necessarily in CA, but around non-members). But after Saturday night, I'm not so sure any more. How do you parents out there feel about this whole subject?
On a lighter note I thought I would post some pictures from this summer! We are enjoying ourselves in Phoenix. It is pretty hot, but not as bad as I thought it would be...I guess I'm not knocking doors everyday, all day though!! I am really excited to go back to Rexburg though. I miss our house a ton I am sick of living in an apartment..but I guess the job is worth it!
